Oh Mama, I can't even IMAGINE!!!!

I hope you are getting enough to eat and drink? Ugh, that would be SO tough to go through. Have you tried a glass of wine (even a full glass)? Just to get some rest?

Can you tell at all what position baby is in? If you can tell at all I'll try to offer my best doula suggestions to help turn baby IN labor. But one way that can help (just not even knowing what position) is "Marching the Stairs".

What you do is find some stairs SOMEwhere and as long as they aren't insanely wide, put your right foot to the right edge of step 1, swing your left leg exaggerated style (like marching) up and forward and then around to put your left foot on the left edge of the step 2 steps up (so skipping 1 stair). Transfer ALL of your weight over onto that leg/hip and repeat the same thing with your right leg. Take them every other (the stairs) if you CAN, but even doing them one at a time will help.

The point of this is to rock your pelvis back and forth and front to back and allow baby to re-position their head/body better. Take 15 min. if you can (it's not a race or anything) at a time and maybe like 5 - 10 min. break if needed.

It really does help though it sounds wild. You just have to be sure to not cheat and keep your weight in the middle vs. all the way over on that one leg and you have to really exaggerate that leg/march thing with swinging your leg.

Good luck, I'll be checking back...

38 weeks today. I have been pretty crampy all day yesterday and today, but I don't think it means anything. I am gunning for next week, around the full moon. Dh took his last exam yesterday (9 in total for his architecture license) and I turned in my last paper. He was unavailable via phone for 5 hours yesterday but is now easy to get a hold of, so it is nice to have any major obstacles out of the way.

I am starting to get in that place of hating the waiting game! I am anxious to meet the baby but also sad about not being pregnant anymore. Although, I am excited to get rid of this belly, I keep trying to squeeze into small spaces and getting my belly stuck!

I am waking up a lot with contractions and needing to pee, so I am sure things are in motion, just slowly.

Overall, I feel good.

ELV to our laboring mamas!

I spent 3+ hours at the emergency vet with the new kitty last night. Kind of a depressing place to hang out, as all the animals are in distress and the people are in tears. I was totally having a hard time keeping it together and not crying like a baby. Our new cat has an infection.

Anyway, didn't get much sleep, but when I did fall asleep, I got 5 hours without getting up to pee! Miracle.

I thought I was gearing up for the big show when I woke up this morning. For almost 2 hours I was having pretty steady painful contractions. I decided that maybe I should time them and see how far apart they are. I had 3 more and then they stopped. Or at least slowed down a lot and got less painful. :

But I just went to the bathroom and got some bloody show on the tp. Even though I knew the contractions were doing something, it's good to have the visual.

So here I wait. Still.

39 weeks today

Had a midwife appt today. Nothing new to report. Still trying to figure out whether or not to treat my gbs during the birth.

When I went to the birth center today though, both rooms had laboring moms in them, and it bothered me a little bit, because I realized that if I went into labor, I wouldn't have a room to deliver in. Of course, I'd be happy just birthing at home, but my family doesn't feel the same way and I didn't think to ask what they would do in a situation where a third mom went into labor until after I left. I don't see myself going into labor any time soon anyway though, so I guess I am going to try not to worry too much about it and hope for the best.

Checking in...

39 weeks today. I'm no more uncomfortable than I was, say, three weeks ago. That makes me feel like this baby isn't in any rush. This morning I took DD to the pool and I just floated ... sooooo nice.

And also in all fairness those that have earlier due dates start having there babies so then I can feel next on the list That would be nice but there are so many of us to go I think of Dora from Finding Nemo "Just Keep Swimming" so ladies keep swimming!!

I'm feeling kind of blah today. I'm just worried about DH's work and the baby coming too early. But, on a good note I don't think that anything is happening on that front.

Labor vibes to those that want them and stay put vibes to the few of us that want them.

Wow! Good luck and ELVs to all our laboring mamas!!!!

37+6. I'm back from my MW appt. Measuring 42 and babe is head-down and LOT. BP is great. We're just on babywatch now! My next appt. is on my dday.

So, yeah. Still having prodomal labor. I'm binding my belly now, so hopefully all these practice contractions will help babe to descend and get everything set for whenever this decides to really kick into gear. I had my first tiny bit of bloody show yesterday, but only a tiny bit and none since, so I'm discounting it. It's always been my first "true" labor sign, but I've never had it go away... just increase. I went ahead and checked myself, though, and I'm around 4-5 and babe is not quite engaged, so I really think once babe drops we'll be off to the races.

All that said, I'm honestly still not in a particular hurry for labor to start. Not averse, obviously, just not hurried. However, sometime before Friday after next(6/20) would be great, b/c otherwise we have TONS of stuff I won't be able to get out of/visitors around that weekend that I don't want to deal w/ while I'm in labor, so I'd really have to wait until the following Monday. So much for hoping for a solstice babe, .

38 weeks, 3 days

My sister has a 2 year old and she's been preparing him for his new baby cousin. She called me today to say that when he woke up this morning, he sat up and said, "Baby Ansel!" She thought maybe it meant Ansel might decide to be born today, but I don't think so. No sign of it!

This is the little one who actually knew I was pregnant before I did. I was over at my sister's house and my mom was watching him. We were giving him lunch and he turned and pointed at me and said, "mama!" My mom and I looked at each other to exchange a "whaaa?" look. We thought maybe he was just associating me with his mom because we are sisters. But when I told my sister about it later, she said "but he calls me mommie, not mama!" Soooo, the next day I found out that he was right. I was going to be a mama!

Anyway, we had a pretty full day yesterday and I didn't get a chance to do any napping. Today I made sure that didn't happen again. After breakfast I felt drowsy so I just went right back to bed for a while. My husband is napping now and I went and rested again for a while with him. I didn't actually sleep that time, but it was nice and relaxing. In between all of this I'm trying to take care of some cleaning and organizing, but it's slow. I did do three loads of laundry. Otherwise, I've just done a few minutes here and few there, putting things away or whatever.

We will probably make pizza tonight, if my husband ever gets up and does a store run.

I think I'm losing a bit of my plug! Otherwise just some spaced out mild contractions, but I could be starting early labor! Or it could be another week knowing me.
