broken necklaces

Hello,
do you have any ideas how to recyle broken necklaces? Over the years I have a little collection of those "beyond home repair".
Would charity shops accept them? Or is there any other way to recycle use them (gold)?
Many thanks,
Summer

Have you tried taking them to an independent jeweler? I think most can melt them down and make them into something else.

That's a good idea, many thanks!

Just have to find someone as we live a bit rural.
I would feel a bit sad just to throw them away. My husband had the idea to integrate it somehow into sparkling Christmas decoration, but your tip is my first choice

Scrap gold is selling for quite a bit these days depending on the quality.

You can sell it. And I use old jewelry in art projects around the house... windchimes, mobiles, woven into something, that sort of thing.
