Baking soda life and air.

How much does air effect baking soda? I found the most perfect container for my baking soda that I use for laundry. It's in a drawer container, but it's not airtight. How much do I really have to worry about this? Does anyone know?

I haven't had problems with baking soda, even keeping it in the box, but I'd prefer something less porous than light cardboard. Your container is probably okay unless your bathroom is super humid. Our house sometimes gets so humid that mold grows on the windows but I haven't seen a problem with our baking soda (if we stored them in the wet windows, I'm sure we'd have problems - had some metal cans in a window and they turned half rusted before a year was out.).
