summer knitty

What are you going to make?! I love the spring forward socks--the lace patterns seems simple enough even for *me*!

peace, Beth

Thank you for linking to that! I think I'll try the BYOB. They look much nicer than the ones I use now.

I love thira, but I think it's going to have to wait for another summer, and I love the seascape wrap. The matinee coat is cute too

I love the seascape wrap too, as well as the spring forward socks. I like Gigi too without the drawstrings on the sleeves.

Helena is really pretty and I Shetland Shorty. I think I may be biased about Shetland Shorty though because the model's hair is **fabulous**.

The model of Shetland Shorty is stunning. I do not care for the knitted piece itself (I cannot wear boob sweaters), but I could be drawn in by her beauty.

I know the designer of Chevette. I actually happened to be in the LYS when she took the pictures featured on Knitty. Too weird.

There really isn't anything I've just gotta make. I like Helena, but I would likely not do the ties, would perhaps pick another lace pattern. It really isn't something I couldn't do with a basic Knitting Pure and Simple pattern. It is pretty, though.

I like Seascape, but I do not care for working with kid mohair. Really I don't foresee adding anything to my queue from this one, but that is good as my WIP list includes:
1. A vintage-styled sweater for me (long term project though I wanna wear it NOW)
2. Simple baby cardigan for my sister's baby-to-be-born (this has to be cast on in the next day or two and finished before July 2)
3. Cardigan for my older ds (want this finished by the end of summer)
4. Cardigan for younger ds (needs to be cast on and finished by the end of summer)
5. Baby sweater for friend due in September that will be frogged and restarted yet again, bleh.
6. Oh, yeah...I started a sweet little dress for a sweet little two-year old that needs to be done in a week or so.
7. I want some new scarves for me for this fall.
8. I want to knit a Baby Surprise Jacket.
9. Hmmm...I know there is more, but I am in denial and cannot look at the projects themselves.

I LOVE Thira.

I love, love, LOVE the seascape wrap!! And just set my needles free last night... I was wondering what I should start.

I am going to make ziggy

I want to make Seascape and Thira. Seascape finally gives me something to do with the 4 balls of yarn that I have that are a perfect substitute for Kidsilk Haze. And Thira is just the kind of top I like to wear in the summer - but so is Coachella and I already have the yarn for that. Sigh . . . so much I want to knit; so little time!

The BYOB is cute! I've made several of their Everlasting Bagstoppers, too, but I modified the pattern for a single seed stitch handle instead of the double ribbons. The baggers at my farmer's market are always confused though - "you want the groceries in your purse?" LOL!

I just cast on for Helena tonight. I am making the 18mo size for my slim 21mo out of some stash worsted weight yarn. I spent a while mulling over the math to make my worsted weight gauge (5st/1" versus 4.5 as per the pattern) and just figured it would look lovely for at least a little while regardless

I love the zippy socks and have added them to my queue, but I need a break from sock knitting.

I CO'd and frogged Helena already LOL. I got about 2 inches into it and found I didn't like the way the fabric was (too tight/thick) so I'm gonna do it at a different guage. Its all because I was using a heavier yarn than it calls for though. So I'm 1/2 way through a different raglan sweater now then I'll give that one another shot (if I can control myself to not start another one before I finish this one!)

Off to find something fun to work on...
