Catch-22: Sleeping through the night...owies.

I know, a confusing thread title, but let me explain...
GOOD NEWS: Caleb slept for 9 hours last night!
BAD NEWS: Caleb didn't eat for 9 hours and my boobs are hurting and I think I'm getting plugged ducts.

I love catching the extra Zzzs lately but I hate having plugged ducts.
Will my boobs eventually adjust to this? How long does it take?
Are any of you mommas going through this, if so, what are you doing to deal?

my first 2 slept 5-7 hours a night from birth and i would wake up drenched with milk. i would pump when i first got up which helped and they did adjust, however both boys started waking up every 3 hours starting at about 3 months.
which never stopped!

ow lucky you! my LO wakes up 2 -3 times through the night to nurse, I don't even remember what 8 hours of sleep looks like let alone 9!!

Yeah, there are nights when my LO is awake every 2-3 hrs to nurse and then we have the occasionally lovely night when he goes 6 hrs.
When that happened the first 2 times I woke up with plugged ducts and we had alot of catching up to do with nursing him that day.
Now, I;m kindof adjusting to it I guess and things are evening out.
Plugged ducts are the worst though.
Besides them being uncomfortable they are worrisome cause you're always afraid something worse will develope because of them (mastitis).

Pump and feed, pump and feed!

Mine has slept 5 hours at a stretch since birth... but sometimes he will sleep for 8 and that is painful!! He has been doing it more often lately and it has been getting less painful so I have hope

My LO slept his first 6 hour stretch last night, and I woke up with rock hard boobies! OW! I fed him, then got up and pumped the rest. He slept another three hours, fed, then slept another two. WHOA!

I can't help thinking that last night was a fluke. The extra sleep felt great, we both must have needed it! We usually feed every 2-3 hours at night, but for the last week he has been waking every hour between 3 and 6.

So, therefore, I have no idea what a "normal" night for him is yet. Huh.

Oh yes. Dd has been sleeping 6-7 hour stretch at night and my boobs are so huge and full when I get up. I've NEVER had a leak at all since she was born, and I drenched my tank top yesterday morning!

Kalum slept from 9:30-4:30 last night!!! I woke up huge naturally and luckily he was starving as I wasn't in the mood to get up and pump! Knock on wood this continues!
