How big is your art cupboard?

Really, how many art supplies are sufficient? Every so often I clean out my kids art cabinet and it's still stuffed and a mess!!:

Anyone else have a hard time keeping things to a minimum?

Shoot, when I grew up, we had crayons, scissors and glue...but it seems there is so much more available to kids today and...well, it's all so cool lol..

I feel like my craft supplies are out of control, too.

I'm considering giving it all away, starting over, and ONLY getting what we actually NEED on a project by project basis. Seriously. The only things my kids seem to use spontaneously are pencils, pens, paper and pencil crayons, anyway....

I've decided to get rid of all markers, anyway. I'm getting tired of throwing out so many dried out/used up ones every year. If they want markers, and don't have them, maybe they'll use the paints more....

The items that I bought specifically for our art curriculum have a special box. Then the other "free reign" art supplies are everywhere. Several pads of art paper, crayons, markers, colored pencils, fancy scissors, reg scissors, special papers, glue, etc. They take up 2 or three shelves on our book case. The paints are kept up high so I can control their usage.

We just moved, so we have two bureau drawers and part of the top of it for art supplies.

Though I haven't got my order from this year in yet. I'm thinking it'll be taking over at least another drawer already!

Just realized I didn't actually answer the op's question. We have all craft supplies in the house, incl my sewing baskets, consolidated to fit
on two tall IVAR storage units. Not counting the paints and painting supplies, which fill a four drawer plastic rolling unit.

We have alot of art supplies stored all over the house... I have no idea how 'much' there is but I stock up at back to school sales (we go thru crayons like water) Lots of scissors, paper, construction paper, foam items, glues, glitters, paint etc etc etc... plus the craft sets... window shines, yarn activites, special crayola sets (color wonder etc)

Yes its overwhelming but oh SOOOOO FUN

Art and craft supplies are my one weakness.... I have managed to declutter my life except for that. We have an easel, chalk, dry erase markers, crayons, markers, colored pencils, paints, watercolors, oil pastels, paper, scissors, glue, glitter, cardstock, stamps... etc ... I get positively giddy even talking about it I love arts and crafts so much

So I keep them pretty well organized -- I have two 3 drawer bin thingies -- and I have all sorts of little boxes and containers for the stuff. -- I rotate things out on a shelf next to my daughter's easel so we both don't get overwhelmed and so clean-up is easy. She always has access to all of it, but I rotate what is left *out* on her shelf.
