Toy tool belt pattern?

My DS is really into tools, and would love to have a toy tool belt (I'd like it too, since it would keep him from putting his tools down his pants, pretending he has one) I could probably make something up, but I thought I'd check and see if anyone has done this before, so I can learn from what they've done... or has anyone seen a pattern for this?
thanks!

I've never made a toy tool belt, but you could always just make an child size apron and fold in half horizontally to make deep pockets for the tools.

I'd just go to a hardware store and take a look at the toolbelts. DH's toolbelt is basically canvas pockets on a leather belt.

I'd probably do sort of the half apron with pockets myself. You could do a tie in the back or use a belt buckle closure on the side or front (so your child could do it without assistance).

Those are some great ideas, thank-you. That sounds so much simpler than what I was thinking of!

Green peppers makes an adult sized pattern, which you could get with the upcoming Joann's 50% sale coupon and convert to child sized.

I think it was on a thread in the toys forum someone posted pictures of one they made. It was recycled from an old pair of jeans with the back pockets being the pockets for the tools and ties to fasten it on.
