Check out this white paper from ICGI. I can't vouch for its numbers as absolutely exact. But it goes over the numbers available in a pretty objective way. The bottom line problem is that, though we do not actually know how many deaths are caused by circumcision because there is no systematic method in place to track them, that deaths can and do occur from newborn circumcisions. How many deaths from a non-medically necessary surgery are acceptable?
