Born 6/14 at 1:07pm
9LB 5OZ
21 3/4 inches
short birth story
I woke up around 4:30 Saturday morning with contractions that were 3-4 minutes apart and too strong to sleep through. So, I got up and decided to watch some tv and wait to see if they tapered off. They were still going strong at 6, so I took a shower and decided to wake up dh and call the midwife. We got to the birth center around 7:30 am and my cntrx tapered off a bit while they gave me the antibiotics (I only did one round) and checked me, so after that we went outside and walked around on the front porch. At around 11:00, things really started going, so I decided to get in the tub. I didn't plan on using it, but the jets were really awesome for the pain. I stayed there until about 12:30 when I decided things were getting close to the end, so I crawled into bed and the midwife checked me, and said I still had a bit of a lip on the cervix, she suggested waiting to push, but I couldn't wait much longer, so she ended up having to physically hold it out of the way of the baby's head with her fingers while I pushed her head past. She was born at 1:07 pm.
