I guess the title says it all, but i'm starting to read it and would love to discuss with anyone if interested...

oh and the subtitle is "Helping Your Kids Thrive in a Fast-paced, media-saturated, violence filled World"

sorry about the not-all-caps parts taht should be (NAK)

I have read through most of it, and I have enjoyed it a lot. It seems a little broad for me, though. Sharing power, countering media, building relationships, unstructured play... I know she ties it all together, but I think in the end it left me a little unsatisfied. It felt like she was skimming the surface of the topics...

I liked her emphasizing the need to provide lots of opportunities for unstructured, creative play, which really resonates with me right now, during summer vacation.

Are you liking it?

Me me!

She is a grandparent (former parent) at DS's school, and I LOVE hearing her speak. And I really like the book so far. It speaks to my beliefs. Not so much in an instructive way just yet, but just in a "yeah, that resonates" kind of way.

I'll be back later with more thoughts. This thread has inspired me to pick it up again!

I am reading it too. Still at the beginning, but so far I like it. I was hoping it would start to get a little more concrete with specific advice though.
