We do hamburgers and chili often these days. I loooove my chili recipe, and have adjusted it to TF.

Here's the original recipe (Moosewood):
http://www.geocities.com/NapaValley/...702/chili.html

--I don't do the bulgur; either leave it out entirely or use ground beef instead.
--I soak, cook and tray-freeze large quantities of beans, so that I can just scoop some out and add them to the chili at the end. (Instead of the canned beans they recommend).
-- I use a combination of fresh tomatoes and strained tomatoes (looks like a juice, in a glass bottle near the canned tomatoes) instead of the canned tomatoes they recommend.
--I add 1 TBS beef gelatin near the end.
--I serve it with rice or quinoa mixed in.

I find the recipe definitely needs salt and pepper added at the end, but really, it's the freshest tasting chili I've ever had. We love it over here, and have it every week...
