6/15 update thread

Thought I'd start it today...
40+3 today. Baby dropped yesterday afternoon while we were walking around at the zoo. Literally the baby went THUNK and shifted about 2 inches down. It was all very odd and I wasn't positive what had happened but the baby is definitely lower now. BHx are slightly crampier than they have been but still nothing to write home about. I guess that's *some* progress, anyway....

BP was 136/86 this morning, as if to tell me I need to suck it up and do something
So, I took the castor oil. It really wasn't bad at all, everyone worked it up to be so awful I'd throw up and gag and everything else......I put it in 4 oz of coca cola (which I NEVER drink, I don't do soda at all) and chugged it, and all it tasted like was coke with oily bubbles LOL. Then I took another drink afterwards and it washed the oily taste out of my mouth and it was totally uneventful and fine.
So, we'll see what happens. Though I keep getting post soda drinking burps/bubbles in my nose.....thats my only side effect so far

I'm 38+2

I hurt. I wake up every morning and my lower back is just killing me, nothing is comfortable anymore. I may just have to try something to motivate this baby out. I've been trying to be patient, but I'm so excited to meet her and just so freaking uncomfortable.

Good Morning! We had crazy thunderstorms last night and lost power for over eight hours! Don't you know, I started having mild contractions until about 3 am when the power finally went back on! They have tapered off, but I am still a little crampy. DP went to get us some eggplant parm sandwiches b/c we couldn't cook....not that I was counting on that starting labor or anything, but for the record, it didn't work!

After a very frustrating day yesterday, I had an emotional breakthrough(dp called it a breakdown) when I was grumpily talking under my breath about a crumpled up dish towel in the kitchen and my dp somehow thought I said "I need a cigarette"...it just put me over the edge and I don't know if I have EVER laughed so hard! It was just the most rediculous thing! But it felt great, and rolled into a second laughing fit when my son said he couldn't find his flashlight because it was too dark...(remember, we were in a power outage)...they both just sat there and watched me laugh so hard I almost peed myself, and had tears falling down my cheeks! ....talk about a tension breaker! I feel so much better today! My family thinks I've completely lost it, but hey, I feel great!

38+3. This day started out just perfectly... got a call at 6am from reverse 911, telling us that the water main to the entire town burst during the night. We're getting a tiny bit of water from the next town over, but only enough for cooking/drinking. No toilet flushing or showers.

Plus, even when they get the main fixed there's going to be a "boil water" order in effect for several days afterwards. So, that basically eliminates my dream of a home waterbirth, if I go into labor in the next week. : AND, I can't take any baths during the next week, which was the ONLY thing that was helping me deal with the prodomal labor.

Plus, the phone woke everyone up... including Dh, who had asked for only ONE thing on Father's Day: a sleep-in morning. Ugh.

It's HOT today, just like it was yesterday, except I'm not out on the town fabric shopping. I'm just hiding at home, sitting right in front of the AC unit. Nothing's changed, really. No BH in sight, no dropping, no bloody show/mucus plug....feet still swollen, belly still heavy, bellybean still trying to roll around and come out through my skin. I'm going to be preggers forever!

DSS is leaving for his mother's in a week, and somehow, I think I'm "waiting" for him to go to have this baby. I kinda feel like it's such an intimate and private thing and I don't feel comfortable having him here with us when it happens.

I think I'll just hunker down and figure out what to do with all this gorgeous fabric I bought yesterday!

I can't believe I'm still not holding my baby on the outside yet. :shaking my head: Talk about a "different from start to finish" pg - man, so much for any type of "way" I thought my body did things.

I had an acupuncture apt. to turn baby yesterday afternoon and nada. No baby turn at all. Almost no ctx. when I was there either so she (graciously ) said, "Ohhhh, it'll probably be a while, I've never had anyone as far along as you not just contract almost constantly when I've had the needles in the pressure points... (blah blah blah)". Insert internal crying here...

Then I went to my massage which was great! She wasn't really able to do my neck though and it could really use it, but my hips and legs felt great. But my upper back hurt SO badly last night I was centimeters away from a full sobbing breakdown. I'm not sure how much longer I can remain pg and remotely ok mentally at the same time.

I've been spoiled to this point, I recognize that - I should have not had ANY expectations, but that's hard. If I go past Wed, it'll be the longest I've ever been pg. Ehhhhh.

Katherine, maybe your idea of planning a special treat for each day after 40w should actually start at 39 weeks or even 38 for some! I just might have to start planning those delights soon!

I've been crampy the past two days, but nothing else. Just got back from a long walk and hopefully will get in the pool soon. We'll see what dh wants to do today.

Dh did the carpets yesterday and we got the carseat. For some reason, I feel so much better having those things done!! Baby can come anytime now

I'm sorry about your water though, that stinks!! and about your DH being woken up

Still nothing happening over here, a little crampy, but not in the uterus area if you KWIM lol, and nothing awful like I've read about.....I get to take another 2oz in half an hour though, so we'll see.....

Oh no! That would seriously stress me out!! I hope your water comes on (clean) sooner than expected!

38 weeks exactly here. MW confirmed yesterday that baby is very low. I had DS at 38+ 3 so I am thinking it might be anytime. I'm having contractions constantly, but who really knows. This baby feels awfully small to me, I'd guess 6.5 pounds. Maybe another week or two would be best.

We are going to Circus Flora today. I hope it really is an air conditioned tent....

Oh, and DP and I both have Hand Foot and Mouth disease from DS. So thats really awesome

i feel like ill be pregnant forever too. we took an extra long walk this morning, which made me crampy, but no ctx. the pelvic pain that had vanished for the last few days came back last night. i'd be tempted to say the baby dropped again, but the heartburn is also worse. sitting here with hiccups in my crotch....i wish i had a pool.

Am I seriously having the longest pregnancy on here? Yikes.
Now even hubby's asking me if I'm right on my dates (with this kid and the previous kids - I can rattle off *all* those dates, tyvm).

Tried to garden the kid out yesterday. Got 3 hours of pretty decent contractions, but they tapered off. Probably because I kinda forgot to eat much of anything yesterday. Won't make that mistake again. But on the plus side I got dust on my eyelids, got another row of green beans planted, 40+ tomato plants in the ground, 15 basil plants in the ground, planted some cilantro and dill and cucumbers, some sage, and something else I can't remember.

Contractions started after I went nuts yesterday, so we'll see if I can do it again today after another round of gardening - *after* I've eaten a fair amount of protein and such today.

39 weeks

I keep on wondering if there's something I'm supposed to do before this little one will decide to come out. I can't figure out what it might be...

I've had a few contractions here and there. Mainly at night.
It's kinda neat feeling the difference between these real ones and the BH's, that just feel more chest tightening.

My feet are still swelling pretty bad, feeling like blisters on top, but the OB isn't worried because my blood pressure has been fine.

Other than that, I'm an emotional, unable to hardly move, over heating blob! blah!

Wow! What a huge disappointment. I am so sorry. I hope they get it fixed today.


As for me, I had a nice dinner date with dh last night, during which the baby was grinding her head around in my pelvis. Some of the sharpest, worst pains I have had. I could hardly sit there. At least I know she's down low and in position, but I swear it felt like she had a square head or maybe horns. That's a pretty picture, eh?

Lizafava~ You guys have HFM? That's funny, I thought only kids got that? Cromac got it last year pretty much immediatly after having chicken pox! Gross and gross!

I'm doing well over here. We had a lovely night without the kids, made soap and did my belly cast. Now DH has taken the kids to a muffin party and I'm washing the nursing pillow and carseat cover, and if I really go nuts I'll mop the floors. This is the one day I can't go into labour cause my MW is running a marathon, but I don't feel remotley laboury anyway. Despite the baby being wicked low and all sorts of freaky fealings down there I think it's going to be awhile. When DH get sback we're going on a nice long walk to test our new double jogging stroller.

HAM~ Send me some of that heat, its 12 and rainy in MB! Boooooo!

DH *did* get to sleep in today (so sorry katherine). We made him breakfast in bed. I painted shelves this a.m. and currently have a rhubarb-strawberry pie baking in the oven for dessert tonight.

my hips are totally crapped out. It gets better as I get up and walk around, but when i'm lying down trying to sleep they hurt so bad! nothing remotely in the way of contractions happening, but I swear that I could feel the babe moving in my vagina last night. Not sure if it was just my position, or if it's really that low...i've had heartburn non-stop since 6 a.m., so if that's low, it needs to be lower! When i went to insert my EPO capsule, I couldn't feel my cervix so ???????

at least I had a good laugh when i read the updates today...cigarettes...hiccups in crotches...ha, ha, ha!!!!

a little crampy and a few random contractions but not really anything going on here. DH and DD decided to go to chuck e cheese, so I decided I'll go too, if I don't feel well I can just sit around there and at least I won't be too bored.

Umm called midwife last night to say "BH are so much more intense tonight, maybe I might need you" wishful and stupid thinking. I'm going to need full on broken water to call again because I just get to feel this way for A long time I think. I too feel like pregnancy will last FOREVER, I've never been this way before. I need to just submit to when this baby is ready but it is such a mental challange for me. Ladies let's just all breath and no we are not alone in feeling this ready. But are those baby pictures not to die for!! Talk about wanting to hole my own babe
