mother's room sign

A local department store has a really nice, comfy mother's room that I always use when I take DS to the mall. Unfortunately, the sign on the door is a picture of a large bottle : I have never seen anyone bottle-feeding in there. The room is pretty conducive to nursing. I would love to talk to somebody about including the international BFing symbol on the door. I'm not sure who to talk to or what to say. Any ideas?

Oh that is aggravating. : I would contact a store manage maybe? Tell them that you appreciate the private space, but maybe a breastfeeding symbol would be more appropriate? Do you have a local LLL? If more than one person made the request they might be more inclined to change it...

I would make or buy an international breast feeding symbol sticker and stick it on the door. Done and done, don't ask for permission, just do what needs to be done!

How nice to have the quiet space. Ds2 is pretty distracted lately so that's a huge bonus IMO. Ok...now...I'm just going to put it "out there." IF they had a bfing sign on the door.........are you SURE people wouldn't get all upset that it had bfing symbol and not a bottle as to IMPLY that bfing mom's should use it? Just saying......because I could see it going that way in a minute.

I'd buy a sticker with the bf'ing symbol on it and just stick it on the door. Honestly, who would complain?

Please don't vandalize the door! You can ask a security guard or store manager for the mall manager's contact info and go from there. Bring a picture of the breastfeeding symbol with you.

You don't have to cover the bottle with the breastfeeding symbol. You can put them side by side and be inclusive.

Yep that Idea! I don't see it as vandalizing because you are not destroying property, just ADDING the sticker to INCLUDE breast feeding mamas, but that is just my opinion though.

Vandalism includes defacement. Get permission to add the sticker.

Or print out your own sign with a big bf symbol and a small bottle and tape it on there....

I agree. It's not your property to add something to. I wouldn't want someone putting a sticker on my mailbox, no matter how wonderful of a topic it might represent. It's not theirs to add to.

Please don't do anything without asking the manager. I think that's hurts lactivism.
