Here's a new pregnancy side-effect for me -- a skin tag has appeared below my left boob. No pain. I wouldn't even know it was there if I hadn't felt it with my hand. It kinda grosses me out, though.

Heh. Both my inlaws have real, honest to god third nipples. No extra aureola mind, just the nipple.

You can clip off skin tags. Get like, a fingernail clipper and get someone who can see it (your husband, maybe?) to sort of gently stretch it out and clip it and the thinnest point.

Interesting...wonder if that's hereditary. Thanks for the tip on clipping. I'll have to work up the nerve. I kind of thought if I fiddle with it enough it will fall off.

I am the skin taggiest thing whenever I am pregnant. They are very odd and funk me out a wee bit. I pull them when they are small, and it doesn't hurt.

i have had a long standing skin tag on the inside of my upper arm that grew in pregnancy and then shrank back down afterwards. i'm a bit chicken to go get it clipped.

just a note, skin tags can bleed profusely when clipped. if youi're h aving any doubt, i'd see a doc. i had a client who had a skin tag under her eye that got big and had to be taken care of. they had to use some sort of tool on her to get the bleeding to stop after they clipped because nothing else was working. really scared her (and me!)

I found out that I had a third nipple when I was 18. Hey, I wonder if I'll have triplets, my great-grandmother did.

kalirush- BOTH your IL's have 3rd nipples? What are the chances of 2 people with 3rd nipples finding eachother?!

Speaking of skin tags- what causes them? I looked it up but the medical community doesn't really know. They have theories but not a clear cut answer.

Also, DH had a big one and didn't do anything about it. Then it started to shrink and actually disappeared on it's own. Weird.

I think they bleed more depending on where they are! You should really be careful about tags anywhere on your face. I've clipped ones on my arms and body with no trouble, though.
