Help me like the taste of raw milk!!

Parts of my childhood, I drank raw milk, and it's what I want to drink because I know it's better for me and my family, but I don't like the taste!!
I drank pasturized milk from about grade 7 to 10, and haven't been able to like the taste of raw milk since...it drives me crazy because I want to like it, I just can't convince my body of that!
I will drink it now, but only about half as much as pasturized because I won't just have a glass, I only use it if I need to...
Anyone else have these issues? How did you get over it?
Tell me how good raw milk is!!

It's creamy and smooth. It's full of vitamins that you can see in it's rich color. It's not thin and full of pasteurized pus (sorry, gross I know...). It's not grey or blue.

It can sometimes taste a little grassy, but that just seems clean tasting to me now. I can imagine the happy cows grazing peacefully in the sunshine.

I drink it knowing how healthy it is for me and my family.

My daughter doesn't like the taste of any kind of milk. But, if I sweeten it with raw honey and flavor it with vanilla and cocoa and a shake of salt she'll drink it right up. I make a paste of the cocoa and honey and vanilla and salt and then gradually whisk in the milk.

Add a teensy (like a tsp) amount of really good maple syrup or birch syrup to a glass. That's deeeeelish!

For me it was a training the taste buds type of thing. The more I used it the better I liked it.

Ugh! I can't stand the taste of any sort of plain milk!! It literally makes me gag. I drink it in my morning smoothie and once in a while at night lightly warmed with honey and a drop of vanilla. I also eat tons and tons of raw, grass fed cheese and beautiful yellow, raw spring butter as well as raw milk yogurt.

Yeah, because the cows used for raw milk never get infections. I'm always amazed at people's ignorance of the dairy industry.

As for the OP, meh, if you don't like it, you don't like it. There are LOTS of things that I know are good for me, but I just can't force myself to like them. And I'm not of the belief that anyone SHOULD be "convinced" to like something. Either you like it and enjoy it, or you don't. Don't feel bad about it! If taste is really that important to you, go with something you like and just consume it in moderation.

You don't have to like the taste of it. I am not a big milk drinker myself, but I make delicious warm cocoa (barely sweetened with a little raw honey, and heated only to 110, so as not to destroy valuable enzymes!) for my son and me, I eat raw milk yogurt almost every day, and I make tasty raw cheeses to put on spring salads. I also put raw milk in my tea after in cools a little.

There are lots of ways to get the benefits of raw dairy without chugging a glass of straight milk. Over time you might like it more and more.

Thanks, everyone!
It's not so much I don't like it, it's just I start thinking too much about how it tastes different than pasturized milk-which I drank when I started "remembering" how milk is SUPPOSED to taste, so to me, pasturized milk tastes normal, and raw milk is different.
I will get it eventually. I think it'll be different when it's from our own cow, because then I'll know it's good, and not have to guess (like I said, I think too much, and my brain plays tricks on me).
Thanks again for all of the help!.

it isnt that the cows "used for raw milk" , as you put it , dont get infections. it is that raw milk as a tiny "industry" is a product of small operations and families. a cow with mastitis is not missed, it is not overlooked. i milk 2 cows twice a day, with my children at my feet. there is not a chance i would ever miss any problem in my cows. i would never sell milk from a sick cow, i couldnt. i dont have the magic of homogenization and pasteurization at my avail to make such milk edible. raw milk producers span from people like me to organic pastures, and one can choose their source as they will.

as far as the taste, i cant say the milk from any two cows tastes the same. you may be surprised how much you love raw milk when you try it next! even the seasons change the taste.

to me, it tastes EXACTLY the same... I really don't know what all this weird tasting raw milk is like! (and I am picky about taste)

Which is why it's SO important to know your source. But that's not always the case. It being "raw" is sometimes the golden seal that makes people believe it must be perfect, and safe, when in fact they've never set foot on the farm.
