WAHMs, please help!

Okay, we're so so far behind in our bills right now.

I just started as a ChaCha guide and have made 100 in about a week, but the LO is very active and LOVES laptops... he's always chasing me around, banging buttons.

I need to know what you feel is the "best" job that I can do from home (as I'm pregnant and don't want to have to quit), but NOT a call center job, as we don't have a) landline phones and b) peace and quiet that i can do on a flexible schedule.

I've looked at these boards for about 2 years now, and just can't find the right match. Substitute teaching? I don't have health insurance to get the Doc exam required, but maybe I can get around it...

Help help help!

I don't think anyone can advise you as to what "the right match" might be without knowing what your skills, experience, and interests are.

Alrighty, Nemo, thanks.

I'm sure, however, that they can advise me as to what they like best. That they do for themselves.

I'll work on rephrasing the question, then.

I can certainly tell you what works and what wouldn't work for me, but that doesn't seem very helpful. For instance, Etsy would not be my thing, at all, but I know a lot of women who love it and are very successful at it, so I wouldn't want to steer you away from it. On the other hand, I enjoy what I do--online test scoring--but I know others who have tried it and hated it.

So, if you'll share some of your interests, or your past employment background, I'm sure you'll get lots of helpful responses. If you don't want to share that, perhaps check out the threads about "what WAHM do you do?" (I think there are a few threads like that) for some ideas.

Nemo, how did you get into online test scoring? Do you have any good links?

What Nemo said.

I know what works for me and what doesn’t, but unless we have more info as to your experience and what you like/love, it’s hard to suggest much. For me, though I WOH currently I am working on starting a business so that I can eventually WAH. It’s a web based business and it’s taken me almost a year to get to the point where I can officially launch, but its still a few months off. Businesses (depending on what it is) don’t just get started overnight and I find it easier to start something if you have income than if you dont.

I also freelanced for a while (WAO) doing the same thing I’m doing now WHO and its taken me weeks to get clients to the point where I was doing OK financially, but I really needed to be full-time employed to get the stability I ‘m comfortable with (not to mention health insurance!).

There are so many variable. Please share more about what you’re looking for.

You might want to try freelance writing - I manage it with a two year old I was able to squeeze in 15 hours or so per week before I had to break down and find childcare, though.

I know this has been asked before, but i haven't seen a direct answer that I understand, what is a chacha guide? thanks!

I'm looking for the same answer. Cha Cha Guide??? Where can I find more info.

From the last thread I read it sounds like it would be PERFECT for me.

I've looked into everything! I've went in debt w/ Melalueca and have had a hard time with internet marketing in general.

Naomi Aldort personally advised me not to do a home daycare for my 2 yr old ds' sake. She said he's too young to understand me caring for other kids all the time. I agree. The way I want to mother certainly wouldn't be in harmony with other kids around all the time. Not too mention .. it's the whole reason that I decided not to have another baby until my son is 5 + years old. It's believed in many cultures that its irresponsible parenting to have more than one child within 5 years of eachother. Because that's a crucial window for their development and they need that one on one for those years. (hope I didn't affend anyone)

But I feel I have no choice but to do it. I'd rather do a home daycare than go to work out of the home. I'm stuck! I've worked as a bank teller, customer service, data entry, waitressed, retail you name it. I worked several positions before becoming a mother.

I don't like the usual cold calling, internet marketing, selling, spending lots of money to make money etc. The online paid to's would be cool if you didn't have to pay for some stupid offers or give your credit card for them to charge you to pay you. (I'm broker than broke)

I thought about cleaning houses part time. But I don't know how much time I'd be away from my son. His father isn't the best care giver and he's all I have.

If I could do some kind of typing / data entry / research / editing etc position part time that would be PERFECT. My son has a ton of learning tools, toys and games to keep him occupied that he can enjoy while I work and I could do so during his nap aswell.

I'm desperate.

https://www.chacha.com/?src=google_chacha_keyword --- At the bottom of the page there is a 'Become a guide' link. If you click on it, you can find the FAQ's.

I believe that as a guide you assist internet users with thier online searches - helping them find the info they are looking for.

HTH!!
