I want a "turkey timer"!

You know, the little thing on the turkey that pops out when it's done? With my ds, my water broke in the middle of the night at 37 weeks. Hard contractions immediately followed and I had no question I was in labor. I wasn't expecting to have him that soon and hadn't been thinking about it much, so I didn't go through a "baby get out" or "let's get on with this" stage.

Now, I'll be 39wks tomorrow and have been having really intense bhx. They wake me up at night. I lay in bed feeling crampy with an achey back and think, "Is this it?" How will I know? I don't expect for things to start with my water breaking again. I have absolutely no signs of pending labor -- can't even reach my cervix, mucous plug is still there...

I'd like a little fortune cookie, a message from a little bird... something to give me a clue about when it might happen and how I'll know it's real.

Just a little impatient today...

EXACTLY my situation! I'm so frustrated. Everyone says "you'll know". But I obviously don't, because I've "known" twice now I was in labor. Only I wasn't. Grrr.... Give me my water breaking any day over this.

I just jokingly said to DH last night: "it can't be time yet, my turkey timer hasn't popped yet." while pointint to my belly button! however, mine would be a very unreliable timer, since my belly button just gets flatter and flatter, and never actually pops out.

I think that would be a good gag gift for a shower, though.

Will this do?

I'm crashing your DDC. I'm in the November (e.g. Thanksgiving) DDC and one of our mamas posted this link...

Love the shirt! That would be great!

My belly button popped out months ago and just continues to become more and more deformed. It's not at all a reliable turkey timer!

Love that shirt! Mine popped at 16 weeks.... DEFINITELY not a good timer. It's defective I think.
