JULY IVF Cyclers.

HI!!!! I have been piping up on the June thread, but really I am cycling in July. I also notice the June IVF thread is already 7 pages long, so I thought I'd start one for July people. Hoping to find some cycle buddies!!! I am on day 6 of BCP's, my protocol is to take the whole 21 days worth, so I won't be stimming until the second week of July (??). This is my second IVF, my first cycle resulted in a m/c, but we had enough embryos to do a FET and I had my dd (she is 2). I am much more informed this time around!! Mostly thanks to these boards. I will be doing the same protocol this time - nasty Synarel nose spray, and Repronex and Gonal F injections.

Anyone?

Good Luck July Fryers!!!

Hey CRM - I'm with you in that I've been piping in on the June thread, but I will actually be a July IVF'er. I'm on day 11 of my BCP's, and only have 3 more to take - yeah! I'm on day 4 (I haven't taken today's yet) of Lupron, and in theory will start my stims on the 26/27th of June, HOWEVER, due to my vacation, I will potentially take one extra week of Lupron and start my stims on July 3/4.... dh and I slept on the decision last night and will probably discuss tonight to see if we'll do that or come home from vaca a little early to get the baseline u/s done and then start the stims on the 27th.

: and hoping for a whole lot of BFP's!!!

I'm here too I have 2 more days of bcp (I've taken them for 30 days) and I started lupron last night. Appt on June 30th to check if I'm appropriately suppressed. Possible starting stims on July 3rd. I have PCOS and will be taking Repronex and Follitism. Since I naturally have multiple eggs on each ovary I'll only be taking a dose of 75 to start. I looking forward to lots of bfps!

Hey gals

Today is day 14 of bcp - done with those on Friday. Just started Lupron and dexamethasone last night. Baseline ultrasound scheduled for the 26th, if all looks good, I'll start stims on the 28th and travel to Denver on the 2nd. Tentative ER is the 9th and ET either on the 12th or 14th.

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Hi there! I am new to this thread & am very excited I stumbled across it. After 2+ years of no luck, I am beginning the process for july IVF (1st timer). Though my friends & family try their best to be fully supportive, it remains unparalleled to the support I get from people "who know"...

I am glad to see there are a few of us on the july track. i'll be sending positive vibes to all

Hey welcome!1 and like we always say around the IF forum, hope your stay is short

I am on day 8 of bcps and not looking forward to the synarel, which I will start on day 14. I just looked them both up and it looks like synarel nose spray and lupron do the same thing, shut down your pituitary gland/suppression. Have to say, I have used it twice before and it made me so cranky and weird feeling. If you have no experience with it, get ready and make sure you have self care plan ladies! My dh is nervous already (I used it for my first IVF and then again for our FET, the second time, after a doozy of a fight he said "oh, I remember this month"). He's preparing himself for crazy cranky lady.

And I'm gonna say it again, because it's one of those things that no one warns you about but when it happens they say "oh that's common"..... watch out for constipation!!!!!!!!!!!! Any sort of messing with my hormones makes me constipated (and I eat whole grains, lots of fruit and water). The first time I went through IVF I didn't really notice or worry about it and it got really bad. I had no idea constipation could be that serious. Keep on eye on things and talk to your clinic about what you can take if you have to (or just completely gorge on fresh fruit like I plan to and eat lots of steamed broccoli like my acu suggested). Okay, end of TMI.

How's everyone else doing?

Welcome bellyenvy - ditto what crazyrunningmama said about a short and sweet stay

I'm saying this with my hand covering my mouth, speaking very softly, making no eye contact lest the lupron gods hear me - day 3 of lupron and all is well.

Tomorrow's my last day of bcp - can't believe how fast that went by.

Good luck everyone

Crazyrunningmama - I continually appreciate the advice. As a first-time, it's good to get some perspective from someone who has btdt.

LisaG - I agee with you on the lupron. So far so good. My last bcp was last night. Good thing because I was already spotting and have been having major PMS, oohh the crying. My baseline is on the 30th, so I think I'll be just a little behind you.

Bellyenvy - elcome I too hope you stay is short and sweet and you get lots of help and support from all these wonderful ladies.

Thank you gals for your warm welcome

I do appreciate the heads-up from those who have been through it all before...
RE didn't say if I am going to be on the nose spray, just lupron and Dex (? some sort of pill). I've heard both will make you loose your marbles. The other thing I fear is the laminaria--- anyone have experience with that? When I asked, my 1st IVF nurse told me it was the most excruciating, horrible process I could ever imagine. (I changed IVF nurses a couple of weeks after one too many of those types of comments).

My husband is working and in school. He has seen me under the posession of the clomid demon, but I don't think he has any idea what is yet to come... I also don't know if he understands how much support I really will need. Have any of you come across any literature that may be of help? I wish there were an "IVF for idiots" manual that I could give him.

It sounds like the three of you are well on your way through this deal! Here's to each day you get to cross off your calendar! Keeping my fingers crossed for you each:

Just count yourself lucky, maybe I won't be a nutbar this time (fingers crossed!)

I think if you're on lupron you wouldn't do the nose spray. I think they both do the same thing, so you take one or the other, not both.

Regarding support, I choose two good friends to confide in, that helps a lot. Dh tries, but he can only do so much. I have also talked with a therapist who specializes in IF and I will go again to a holistic energy worker friend. AND I am planning at least one massage and one pedicure and some vegging out in coffee shops with trashy novels over the next weeks!! Give yourself the time and permission to take care of yourself is what I mean.

Me too! Excited and I don't even know what else I'm feeling. A bit unreal, even though I've done it before.

WELCOME ALL!!!

Okay, more TMI, I am having a relationship with food sort of like when I was pg in my first trimester. Not "food cravings" but once I start thinking about something, I have to eventually have it. Three days of 'Mmm,pancakes' and I finally made them this morning. And once in a while I'm eating something, and all of a sudden I am grossed out by it. I learned when I was pg to just stop because once it did make me throw up. So annoying, I am only on BCP's for heaven's sake, what's going to happen on stims????

How is everyone else feeling?

Crazyrunningmama: Do you start stimming as the exact same day as me? July 19th? Wow, that will be so cool. I start Lupron on July 3rd and I am most worried about that. I am scared it will make me an emotional mess. I have my IVF class this week.

And one more thing...

I am on BCP's right now and my boobs are really sore! I didn't realize that happens on BCP's!

Oh yeah - ditto that! I didn't know either. The first few days I felt like my boobs were going to torpedo right off my chest. They're still sore, but not as noticeable - or else I've gotten used to it

LisaG - Are the lupron gods still smiling favorably on you?

So far, I haven't had any bad side effects from either the bcp's or the lupron. I did notice that whenever I give the shot in my left leg, I bruise. I guess I'll just stick to the right. I wonder if it has to do with me being right-handed? In fact, my dh and I have been getting along very well lately. I think I'm trying very hard to be nice to him now, since I don't know what we're in for as I introduce the other drugs.

Anyone else feel like it's going slow now? This lupron stuff isn't very exciting or interesting.

ditto, ditto, ditto I was just thinking today, it's all rather boring at the moment - which I suppose is far better than the alternative

I'd say the only thing I've been noticing - I've been belching a lot the past few days, doesn't seem to matter what I eat. Also, I had some ice cream over the weekend (I don't do dairy very often because I don't digest it too well) and holy moly, I thought someone put an air hose in my abdomen. Woke up in the early am and my belly was not happy. Note to self.

I see AF arrived for you Julia. Feels like mine is right around the corner, with a roar. I'm looking forward to my baseline u/s Thursday morning. Nothing like being wanded first thing in the morning to get your day off to a great start

Well I'm off to knitting group!

The way my clinic does it I only have an approximate idea. I do a month of BCP's, starting the suppression nose spray on day 14 (which is crappy but at least I don't have to do shots like you guys with the Lupron) and then wait for AF when I am done the BCP's and then they tell me when to start. Probably have some blood work and u/s's in there somewhere. Yeah, it is kind of funny how slow it seems, last time seemed like it happened so fast but took so long (makes no sense, I know). I had my teach way back at the beginning of May, I took lots of notes but I hope I remember everything!
