My period started today, will go in to have my hcg levels checked AGAIN . A week ago Monday they were still at 7 (the nurse says I get the prize for the slowest dropping hcg levels - yay me! ). They need to be below 5 before they'll let me cycle again. I can't imagine they haven't dropped 3 points in the past 10 days, but then at this point, what do I know? Here's hoping!

I had my first ultrasound today and they said my ovaries are still enlarged and there is a lot of fluid in my pelvic area. That explain the tenderness I still feel and the fact that I also look about 4 months pregnant. I must admit I'm still wearing some maternity bottoms : as I don't fit my regular pants either. They said it just takes time and is pretty normal.

Sorry about none making it to freeze. Hopefully you won't need those anyway. I don't know about the estrogen, but isn't it high for everyone going thru IVF.

Sri Radha sorry you are still bloated!! I can hardly imagine what you're going through. It was bad enough for me, I don't even want to think about if it had gotten worse or continued *hugs* I hope you feel better soon!! Also, I have found that drinking as MUCH water as possible when bloated helps. And switch to unprocessed sea salt (Celtic or Redmonds are popular brands). If your blood pressure is ok you can mix 1/2 teaspoon into some water a couple times a day. That helps me a ton whenever I'm bloated.


I got some bad news today. We had 5 embryos back at the doctors office. And NONE of them made it to freeze, not even the 1 he said he was hopeful for.

Thanks for your good wishes, I am going for b/w late today, won't hear back until tomorrow. Neither me nor my dh has a "feeling" about it (and I've been pg before, but can't tell if I "feel" pg or not!)
Drinking MORE intuitively makes sense to me, but at my clinic they told me to limit my fluids to 1.5 litres or less (would have been 1L if it wasn't summer time). They said that the more you drink the more your ovaries will suck up or something. Do these people even know what they're talking about I wonder?

I find that the good thing about still having "baby fat" from last time is that NO ONE is noticing the bloat/pg/chubby look on me (except for dh)

p.s. They saw two sacs on the ultrasound. I'm a little freaked out, but it's still early. Too early to see a fetal pole in the sac or get a heartbeat. Time will tell...

I was told to drink lots of fluids after my ER. Limiting doesn't make sense to me because if you are going to bloat you will bloat even with small amounts. What happens when you bloat from OHSS your urine output decreases a lot sometimes to nothing so everything and anything will stay in you that you drink...even if it is less. If that makes any sense!

But I finally started feeling better last night! I am still bloated but it's not as painful as it was and I can stand up straight without that strange puling uncomfortable feeling. I still got this belly but it's getting better. I was feeling particularly fed up that night!

CRM: You have great willpower for not testing and I admire that. I hope when I eventually have my FET I can be as strong as you and NOT test early. I think it will be hard though because my clinic doesn't tell you any results until they get the results of your second beta!!!! I guess they want to make sure it's viable before they tell you.

LisaG: I hope your levels are down and you can cycle again!

Should get my official schedule tomorrow. I can't begin to tell you how relieved I am. This wait had seriously taken it out of me. I was starting to wonder if I might be ready to hang it up and call it a day. But the good news is, I'm really happy and excited, so I think I still have enough in me to get back on the merry-go-round

Julia'sMom - 2 sacs!! Are you excited or nervous about the twin possibility? Or holding out until you know more? I think I'd be at least a little bit freaked out for at least a little while, but that's just me.

Yeah, I'm a little freaked out about twins, but I'm just in a holding pattern until heartbeat because anything could happen. I've read it's usually in the first trimester when it's determined if you're going to have twins or a singleton. Regardless, we will be thrilled, I'm sure, by the due date.

I went in for my first beta yesterday- BFP!!!!!!:
Beta was 221 & we're praying it will double by tomorrow!

Thanks for all of your support. I can't even believe IVF worked-even though the odds are in our favor. I did POS yesterday morningand it was the first time in 2 and 1/2 years I have ever gotten a positive!! Now lets hope it sticks...

I have several friends going through IVF right now, too. Feeling confident that we will see several BFP's over these few months.

Glad you're feeling better!!! It's not willpower that kept me from POAS, it's knowing myself. I wouldn't believe it, positive or negative and it would just make me crazier! Speaking of crazy, if the freaking %$#^&*^$@! clinic doesn't call me before the weekend I'm going to lose my mind!

I probably haven't been paying close enough attention. When are all of you getting your blood tests done? The doctor told me two weeks from transfer, while a friend told me two weeks from ER. I am thinking I'll maybe ask at the clinic I'm going to for the testing. I'm already scheduled for estrogen and progesterone draws on Wednesday and I'd like to get it all done at once, but that might be too early I guess huh (3dt was last Friday).

edited: P.S. I am going to start POAS probably every morning starting tomorrow lol. If it turns positive I will be overjoyed, and if it's negative I'll just believe it's too soon to tell accuratly lol.

Only 2 friends IRL and my dh know about our IF and I won't be telling anyone that I am pg until the end of the first trimester (although my mother has a feel for these things and will probably guess). Congrats CRM!!!!! I got home late last night and when I got into bed I said to my dh ...oh no...I have to go online cuz a 'friend' was supposed to find out if her IVF worked or not...yeah, he thinks I'm nuts. Its amazing how quickly you become 'friends' with people here! Well, I decided not to get out of bed and just wait until morning. I am soooooo happy for you. Lots of IVF BFPs gives me hope too.

We have our first appointment with an IVF clinic on Sept. 10...the more good news I read here, the more excited I am for myself!
