Danielle,
Our adoption attorney was Scott Myers. Most likely he would talk to you for free. He would be able to tell you about parental rights including those of your husband. Since you are married at this time, he may have rights to the baby, but I'm not sure. Scott would know. He could also talk to you about what the biological father's rights are and if the domestic violence severs any of his rights or not. His number is 327-6041
Catholic Social Services is the only adoption agency in Arizona that works with adoptive parents that are not religious. Most likely they will not counsel you regarding abortion. However, they do offer free counseling on parenting versus adoption. We did have some trouble with this agency, but I think Lexanne, their main counselor for moms is alright.
You do need to find out your legal standing with the biofather if you continue the pregnancy. You're right, you don't want to be attached to him for the rest of your life. Sadly, abortion would be the surest way of not being attached to him, but I don't know if that's the best solution for you or not. Call Scott. He's a really nice guy and a good attorney. If he can't answer all your questions I'm sure he's got leads on resources that would help you. Afterall, this is what he does, help women find solutions to difficult pregnancies.
