I have heard this works great to calm the itchies

I use Melaleuca Oil all the time on my kids scrapes, bug bites, etc and it does wonders! My kids don't have skin issues with allergies, but the husband of a co-worker has terrible exzema that keep him up scratching at night. I gave her a bottle of lotion with Melaleuca Oil in it and she said it is the only thing he's ever found that helped his exzema.

Hi,
i just googled melaleuca oil and i got a bunch of sites for tea-tree oil - is it the same?

It has or is similar to tea tree oil in it. My mil bought some TT oil for us, but you are supposed to combine it with almond oil but we can't do nuts here so I returned it.
Here is the link that a friend gave me:

Yes we do. We tried to break the cycle with #3 but she was determined to join her brothers (emergency induction at 35 weeks).

That link is to the same Melaleuca Oil I use. Tea Tree oil is the same thing as Melaleuca oil but depending on the manufacturer it may come with other additives or diluted. Melaleuca (the company) has only 100% pure Melaleuca Oil with a standardized ratio of the beneficial properties. This is also the company I purchased the lotion I mentioned from along with most of my other household consumables.

I should add that the company has a membership program (like Costco or Sam's Club) so you can't just go to the website and purchase - you need to be walked through it by a marketing executive (I used to be but am no longer one so if there someone comes along who is currently operating a Melaleuca business maybe they can help you)

As far as I've been told it is the same as tea tree oil. Both my ds's are super sensitive to it and I can't use it in the washer or to clean with or anything. It GIVES them excema instead of treating it! I've heard it works great for use as an antiseptic on wounds, just patch test before to make sure your LO's aren't sensitive to it.

There's my two cents!

I just wanted to add that we dilute the TT oil with olive oil instead of almond oil and it works just great...and for us it works like a miricle on the eczema but again it depends on the individual...when it comes to the kids alergies i feel like in novel by Agatha Cristy!

oh and I've been using it for months myself until i found out that you are not supposed to use it if you are breastfeeding or pregnant...well i will be brestfeeding for a few more years I hope so what do you ladies think - is it safe to use?
