Clothesline for backyard?

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a retractable clothesline for my backyard to go between the 2 side fences, really just for sunning/drying diapers. I have a narrow backyard, about 25-30 feet. I found this, but would like something that I don't have to permanently mount onto the fence and that I can store indoors when not using. I thought about just using twine and tying it to each side when in use and storing otherwise, but I really like the idea of the 'compactness' a retractable line would offer.

Any ideas or input? TIA! Mods, please move if need be.

i had one of these. used it for a while for diapers only. honestly, it just didn't work that well. i could never get it tight enough; it always drooped massively when i put the diapers on. after a few months, it quit retracting.

possibly look into one of the collapsible drying racks.

You could try a Versaline.

I use an umbrella clothes dryier that calapses and you take out of the ground. It folds up very tiny and doens't take up alot of room. And the base that it came with is flush with the ground, and has a cap on it so it doesn't get filled up with debris.

The one I have has an extra place to wrap the line around to tighten it up at the end. It would droop when fully loaded with things like wet towels and jeans, but only like 5-6" in the middle.

They have umbrella style clotheslines at hardware stores.
