am so frustrated with the mentality of the seemingly majority of people along the gulf coast. The idea of drilling off the coast is not a new proposal but in the past it has always been voted down because of obvious reasons like the environmental impact, impact on tourism, fishing industries...just plain ugliness....etc.etc. but now that the prices of oil are up there seems to be a total 350 in opinion. Everybody is just saying DRILL, DRILL and who cares about the consequences. It has already been determined that it will take 5 years after oil drilling began to even make an impact on prices and the decrease would only be between .01 and .04 cents!!! Not worth it!! In 5 years time sooo much could be done for alternatives to oil! Sorry for the rant, it is just so frustrating to see a beautiful place the gulf coat of Florida being jepardized by dollar signs in the eyes of ignorant people! I don't know what I can do because I seem to be in a vast minority in opinion. I just seems like such a no-brainer to me.
