probiotics to prevent allergies?

I'm not sure exactly where to post this, so i thought I'd start here....

Unfortnatly, I have to supplement my milk supply with formula. It was suggested that I add probiotics to the formula to help digestion and prevent a reaction to the formula, and build the immune system, and hopefully prevent future food allergies...

My questions are:

What type of probiotic should I use?

How do I introduce them? just start off with the recomended dose?

Do babies ever have allergic reactions to probiotics, like they do to antibiotics?

(I have some bad reactions to meds, my mother to foods, so I'm nervous introducing new things to the baby- she's 7 weeks)

thanks for your help!

Do babies ever have allergic reactions to probiotics, like they do to antibiotics? Usually if there's a reaction it's to a filler or to the growth medium used and not the actual bacteria. For that reason, you probably want to find one that's free of dairy, soy and corn, along with the other major allergens.
I'm sorry you have to supplement But you're really smart to supplement with probiotics, imo.
