Strawberry Daquiris and Key Lime Pie....I made several batches of Daiquiris in the past two weeks and am going to make my second Key Lime Pie of the week tomorrow.:

When I was a kid I sucked in while playing with a harmonica and you guessed it an earwig landed in my mouth. I never play harmonicas anymore.

OMG, my brothers used to pin me against a tree, hold up an earwig, and say, 'IT'S GONNA EAT YOUR BRAINS!'

to this day, i HATE earwigs.

Must never eat fruit without cutting first ever. again.
LOL

I can't believe there was an earwig (pincher bug whatever) in your peach! I would have completely freaked out complete with screaming/crying, hair flipping and jumping. I don't do pincers or stingers thankyouverymuch.

ICK!!!!! At least you didn't bite it in half!!!! I've done that with nasties in my organic fruit and veg (ok - TMI! )

I always rinse and rinse and rinse some more (and keep spitting out into the sink....)

One crawled into my drink one time and I didn't notice it until it clamped onto my lip. I feel your pain

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! What is it with the nasty bugs lately! {{{shudder}}} First the person with the earwigs in her ear and now this. I ate so many peaches last week, thank goodness I didn't read this first. Blech!

I never used to peel my corn in the grocery store before I bought it, until one time I came across one with a nasty worm in it. I also cut open the most beautiful green pepper only to find some nasty worm in the bottom. How the heck did it get in there?!

I dont' like bugs.

I hate earwigs. I've never been pinched by one, thank goodness, and certainly never in the mouth OMG just typing that makes me want to jump up and run around screaming. Horrid, just horrid. Sorry that happened to you but I'm glad now to know they'll hide in fruit *SHUDDER* so I can avoid.

I know! It's pincherbug year or something! This is awful. Here
is my pincherbug in the ear thread. That was me Warning! Creepiness!

Pesticide grown fruit won't help you though. It had to have entered after the fruit was grown, and the trees are not sprayed at that point.

Yes, that's what it was like. I scared the children, maybe some neighbors, too.

Yes, I've been following your earwig in the ear thread. Perhaps we need an 'attacked by earwigs' tribe.

Why can't I stop looking at these threads. Gross. Hit the vodka and fast!

And for the mama with the 20 limes: Limeade, of course.

you're lucky it wasn't ear wigs in the corn. They're way more common. (I really HATE ear wigs)

generally they get in by the adult bug stinging the plant. They typically spray very early on in the life cycle and bugs can easily get in later on. ick!

I got ya beat. I once got DD and I a non organic peach from the farm. We bit in, chewed and then looked at the peach to learn we were chewing peach and MAGGOTS. The area around the pit was filled with them.

Add I once worked at a peach orchard-they are killer on hands and nails. And itchy. I prefer my peaches canned.

DD still doesn't eat peaches.

Totally! The day before yesterday, I was sitting on the couch holding my sleeping baby. I was NOT MOVING. All of a sudden I felt a sting or bite on my leg. I jumped up, brushed at my leg, it was an earwig. It had apparently crawled up the couch specifically for the purpose of attacking me. I had been there for at least an hour and had not recently readjusted my legs.

Maybe it was exacting vengeance for its fallen brethren who I so cruelly wouldn't allow to reside in my ear

Holy Lord. I may never eat a peach again.
