Any magic trick for getting armpit stains out of shirts, both white and colored? This has been a growing problem for me recently.

dishsoap-or anything that cuts oil. Then hang in full sun for whites.

I've heard (although never tried) that shampoo works well since it is meant to cut through human sweat/grease.

Another good reason to no 'poo!! If it cleans the laundry, hmm.

I read that the aluminum in conventional deodorants is what causes a lot of the yellowing. Not sure if this is true or not, but since DH and I switched to natural products I haven't noticed staining. So it's either true, a coincidence, or I'm in denial

I think you're right about that. I used to get those really ugly yellow pit stains on all my white shirts when I used anti-perspirent (the stuff with aluminum). I quit using aluminum deodorants ten or eleven years ago and I've never gotten those yellow stains since. I remember in college I tried to bleach them out and not even that worked.

I read recently to make a paste with baking soda and scrub your shirts with it and then launder them.
