prologues...like them or hate them? I sometimes wish an author would of rather snuck the prologue info into the novel instead of spelling out all the secrets of the past/future up front...HOWEVER, now in the middle of writing my own novel I am stuck with my own question? should I use a prologue or not? Should I just flashback somewhere after the first chapter instead? And how long can a flashback be before it gets a reader lost? And how many flashbacks are healthy?
