Help me shop for sock patterns!

Until now, I've never had trouble finding sock patterns to knit, between the free patterns on the 'net, my Nancy Bush sock books, and my Walker treasuries. But I have a skein of yarn right now that I want to make socks from, and I can't find a pattern that really speaks to me. So I'm going to expand my search to commercial (paid) patterns, but I really prefer to buy a pattern as a PDF and not pay shipping -- I do not see the logic in paying $5 to have a piece of paper in a laminated sleeve sent to me via the PO (sorry, Fiber Trends : ). So... do you ever shop for patterns, and if so where do you buy them from? I've been looking at Etsy...but would love to hear about your favorite designers/sites too. TIA!

Check out Knitspot.com Anne Hanson has FANTASTIC patterns (I don't know if you like lace shawls but check those out too!).

Thank you! I don't currently knit shawls (not enough patience!) but I like drooling over them anyway.

I'm not. : Because...Ravelry intimidates me? : and I spend enough time on line, anyway. I am afraid that I would never feed my children or shower if I got sucked into Ravelry. Hey, I *just* gave in to Facebook and Etsy in the past couple of months. everyone tells me that I should, but I just haven't made the leap yet. I know when I do I'm gonna be like, "Why wasn't I on here AGES ago?!?!?!" but...
