Natural Fibers are Best

I'm a long time knitter (40 years) and I teach a lot of knitting classes. I want to share with newby knitters the importance of choosing natural fibers for your baby/child articles. Acrylic yarn is a petroleum based product. If it is exposed to heat it melts into sticky, black goop that sticks on skin, hair and bodies. Naturl fibers, (wool, cotton, linen, bamboo, etc.) when exposed to heat create dry, grey ash that does not stick.
Please ladies, clothe your little ones in natural fibers.

I'm with you!

I used acrylic for YEARS until I became aware of the LYS. I didn't think there was yarn beyond the big chain craft stores.

I don't even like a combo using a synthetic fiber.
