Name the biggest blessing of being pregnant (if you still are) or of having a newborn (if you're a new mama) today...

I need some uplifting things to read today and I know there are tons of reasons to be grateful for TODAY.

Biggest blessing for me...

Honestly, that I get one more day to focus almost all of my current attention to the young boys I have right now - that they get their Mom at near 100% for another day and as a twin (having always had to share my Mom from day 1 (though I'd NEVER change that, ever) ), I see that as a good thing - even though it will also be good when baby is here... it'll be different. So as a family of 5 currently, I'm trying to enjoy each day for being just that...

And my other blessing... that this little person is for the time being, a part of me body and soul. Some day soon I'll have to share him/her forever with the outside world... right now I can be selfish and not share a movement or heartbeat if I don't want to. I'll look at that as something special - it's my last opportunity and last few days to do that...

Having my littlest one all to myself today!

Dh left this morning with the 2 little ones to pick up the two older ones who've been at our cabin for the past week. He'll be gone most the day.

Juniper and I had a quiet morning, took our first shower together (she LOVED it), nursed a lot, napped/nursed some, napped some more, nursed some more and nursed some more. I'm knitting a bonnet through all of this. Almost done!

Wow Tanya, do share when you're done! I used the last two days to make a wee soaker (size small I think - I was kind of winging it by patterning it to a soaker I have from someone else - figured why not ) and it's lanolizing now... I love woolies and I have tons of yarn, I am enjoying making some little things to add to the fiber love I've got stashed.

What are you making the bonnet out of? I have some beautiful org. cotton, bamboo and some wool/cotton I've thought of using for something like that...

Mine is a variation of yours, Birthfree...

That at every moment, I can think... *This* is the most intertwined and interdependent this child and I will ever be. We are literally and figuratively closest now than we will ever be.

From my first contraction, we will begin a journey towards independence from one another, a journey that will last the rest of my life. Which is also a good thing, but bittersweet as well. So, for now, I'm focused on the fact that at this moment everything that this child is, every fiber and molecule (save 1 haploid cell ) is derived from me and gifted to this child through my care.

Sounds pretty good when you put it that way, right?

I've knit hats for this LO out of everything! The first one I made using this pattern was 100% cotton. This one I'm using leftover Koigu (superwash wool) in shades of pinks! Gotta finish the ties and then I'll take pics!

Biggest blessing of the day from this very preg-o woman was being able to go out shopping and having lunch with my friends. I know that once this baby comes, I can't just pick up and leave the house at a moment's notice.

Feeling my rock hard "abs" for just a little longer. Can't beat the amazement of a little life created in love causing them...and then the thought of holding this LO soon making my NOT rock hard abs more than worth it.

-AND-

A guy who had been behind me in line at Wal-Mart today came running up to my cart in the parking lot as I was about to unload it into my van, said he was a chaplain with the Navy, and could he help put the big box (some shelves) in the back for me? I was pretty floored, very humbled, and quite appreciative as it was heavy. Other than one or two other similar experiences this pregnancy, I've dealt with mostly inconsiderate people...so this was really refreshing and I was honored!

Juniper modeling mama's knitting.

This is all I've had a chance to take photos of so far. Most everything I've actually knit is in my blog (missing a few things).

Biggest blessing would be spending time with my dh and ds this week. It's been awesome to be out of school and home with them daily! Miles is amazing and I'm so thankful for this time with just the two of them

Tanya, those pieces are adorable!! And Juniper is such a beautiful girl! I was about to give up on the knitting, but I think I'm inspired to give it a go again!

beautiful!!!

My blessings for today ....

getting 'love eyes' when I nurse the boys .... in duplicate. Love eyes is my term for when the baby just STARES at you when you nurse. It's one of my favorite things about BFing.

Watching my two daughters together .... Abby was reading to Rachel, and put her to bed .... sigh!! It was awesome

knowing I have 4 children who love me, in their own ways ...

going to stop now, before I make myself cry .....

good night mommas!!

i agree about the independence. I feel like as soon as the baby is born, they move away from you. the first philosophers thought we all started as two and we were separated and we spend our lives trying to find that peace/piece of us. pregnant gets me close to that state and that closeness that fades exponentially with each day.

ahhhhh....the blessing of today so far is to wake up at TEN with my son sleeping next to me. I was in super snooze mode this morning and I guess he figured if ya can't beat em', join em! We woke up and snuggled for a long time and it was so precious to me, seeing as there will be a little babe in the bed here soon. To top it off, it is THE most gorgeous day ever, sunny and not humid at all, just beautiful! And people have stopped calling me! I think they've taken the hint to back off, and so the only time the phone rings, it is either one of my two best friends who will be here for the birth(and of course I love talking to them!) or dp checking in! Ahhhhh, PEACE! Give thanks for today's blessing of peace!

For me, the biggest blessing of today is that I get to feel this baby squirming around for another day. This is my last baby and as horrible as I feel while pregnant because of HG, I will really miss the feeling of a life growing within me.
