Castile soap uses?

Thread Starter
I just bought some castile soap - Dr. Bronner's eucalyptus for cleaning, and the baby mild version for my face.

Questions:
1) I've read it can be drying for hair. Any recommendations for natural, homemade conditioner? And do you use it alone for shampoo or use a recipe?

2) I'm going to attempt to make our own wash for baby wipes (spraying the wash on paper towels for pee and paper towels for poop). Should I use the Dr. B's directly? Or dilute it?

3) I understand I can use the eucalyptus one for cleaning everything from bathrooms to floors to appliances. Anything I shouldn't use it for?

I use Dr. Bronner's for shampoo. I use 1/2 c. soap, 1 c. water, and 1/4 t. olive oil and use a cider vinegar rinse for conditioning. Works great for me!

For baby wash: I use 2 T. Dr. Bronner's (maybe the mild/baby), 2 T. olive oil, and 8 oz. water. This is a WONDERFUL spray. I use it from head to toe for my LO. I keep it in a spray bottle on my changing table and spray my cloth wipes with it when needed. Someone from this site gave me the recipe and I love it!

I use the Eucalyptus in a spray bottle diluted with water in the kitchen for EVERYTHING I clean in the house. I use it for dishes I handwash, my hands, toilets with baking soda, bathtub with baking soda, etc. Pretty much everything I clean, even carpet and rugs.

Good luck! I think you'll find castile soap to be quite a universal cleaner!

I've just started using castille soap, and really like it. But for wipes, I just use water, and cloth wipes. Over the past year or so I've just found it more convienent and easier on her skin.

Coconut oil - fonditioner

Hi-
For deep, leave-in conditioning, I use virgin coconut oil. I put a glob in my hands and make sure I get all the ends for sure, then I work my way to the scalp. Coconut oil will make your hair look wet even though it's dry, so unless that's the "look" you want, I do not recommend coconut oil treatment before heading to work or on a blind date.

And, this may go without saying, but I use Bronner's castile soap for my dogs' baths, too. Then I rub a little bit of coconut or olive oil on their coats for moisturization.

BTW, the title should be "CONditioner," not "FONditioner." Sorry... it's late.
