silver filling removal and nursing

ok, so i'm scheduled to get a molar capped tomorrow (this tooth currently has a large silver filling in it.) i didn't even think about them taking the original filling out before putting a cap on the tooth and the danger of mercury when i made the appointment last week. (i naively thought that they would inform me of the possible risks, if any, of having this procedure done while nursing...silly me ) ds is 9 mos old and still exclusively breastfed and i only have 6-8 oz of pumped breastmilk in the freezer. how long should a person pump & dump after having a tooth capped? how dangerous is it to have this procedure done while nursing? i wanted to go ahead and get this done because we're trying to use up the money left in dh's flex account at work so we don't lose it, but i certainly don't want to be putting my son's health at risk, so if anyone has any info about this, it would be much appreciated! TIA!!

The mercury that's released from a removal circulates for quite a while--it's not a matter of a few hours or a couple days. I would postpone the work if at all possible.

ETA: Duh, a place to read more about mercury fillings would be helpful, right? Try iaomt.org. Brain not firing on all cylinders today.
