I'm sorry I've been MIA! I've been so excited to share my story but have strict instructions to stay upstairs (with no internet) by the midwives for an entire week! (i have a small tear). So shhh...don't tell anyone I'm down here for a quick peak on my ddc!
This labor was totally different from my other two, which were 3 hours of crazy intensity. I labored overnight for 12 hours but it was more of a, shall I say, "relaxing" labor. I slept between a lot of ctx right up until about 6 AM. Things got more serious then and I suspected transition but I never felt overpowered by the ctx and kept on top of them. Then came a truly hard and painful hour of pushing but my dh was wonderful as was my wonderful midwife and her assistants. I ended up birthing him in a semi squat/semi stand and Llewellyn Paul literally launched out of me (there was no time for crowning, his whole body came out almost at once) and landed face down on the bed. Poor guy, no one even had a chance to catch him! He didn't seem to mind though and has been a very content, pensive little guy. He is nursing well and big brother and big sister are in LOVE with him as are Mom and Dad.
Ok I have to sneak back upstairs. i'll be online again soon!
