What is wrong with me?

I have no motivation. No, that's not really true. I miss knitting. I just can't seem to make myself knit.

I went from feeling weird if I didn't have needles in my hands, in fact knitting by candlelight in a power outage, to not being able to pick up a needle. Very suddenly. Literally in the middle of a project. My baby now has the body and legs of a stuffed elephant, but the head is just sitting there flat and half finished. That was months ago

Help?

I've had knitting slumps, too. Some things that have motivated me are:

-Organizing my knitting bag, yarn, needles, or patterns
-Buying new yarn +/or patterns
-talking to other knitters

I also lose my motivation when I don't like the way a project is turning out. If that's part of it, post some pictures.

But maybe you just need a break, too. Maybe there's another craft calling out to you.

I'm an ADD crafter so I can understand how it can happen. I'll become obsessed with a craft, be it knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, glass painting, candlemaking... You name it.

I seem to go in cycles when knitting though. I won't for a while and then suddenly, I can't get enough. I have a pair of socks I must get done next month, though, so I'll be grabbing the Addi's soon.

Another thing I have found that gets me going again is dying yarn. I just pick up plain yarn from someplace like Knit Picks, then dye it with Kool-Aid or something. It's fun, and you can't wait to knit it up to see what it looks like.

Yeah, me too. I'm bellydancing instead. Part of the problem is that everything I have otn is a big project, but right now I have children to revel in and for the first time in my life I'm enjoying being physically active. It's not so bad

It is in my nature to be obsessed with a craft and then POOF never touch it again. DH will throttle me though if I do that after I spent all this money on fancy yarns. Maybe that is my motivation not wasting my money?
