well then....
My MW just called and said she has a mom in labor so we had to reschedule my apt for monday. bleh. I mean, I'm happy for the mom obviously, but now I'm wondering what I'm going to do with my day since I packed up DD and everything, and skipped LLL this morning.....

39 weeks today

I'm sending all labor vibes away to anyone who wants them! My Dr. had knee surgery yesterday and the one Dr. in the office that I can't stand is on call today. I WILL NOT HAVE THIS BABY TODAY!!!

Other than that, I was 4cm and 60% on wednesday and some brown mucus after being checked and have had lots of intermittent cx but nothing worth timing. Baby is still floating and I'm wearing a support belt to help him stay there for a few days. I'm hoping to last till tuesday when my Dr. is back in the office, but she did say if I went earlier to have L&D give her a call and she would try to come in.

MW stood me up today. Thannnnks. I love having to get my toddler outta the house for no reason. Yeah. Great.

Have an appt scheduled for Monday, unfortunately not at the clinic nearest to us (which normally is reserved for their Mennonite clients) and is only 15 min away, but the regular clinic which is over an hour away.

Really hoping to give birth before then. Such a waste of gas and a morning!

Because my life can't possibly be easy for a single afternoon............

TMI alert:

I just spent the better part of two hours cleaning up explosive diarrhea. Dd3 is, I believe, allergic to blueberries. I've never seen so much poop come out of an animal that small... and I've had lots of experience with this to compare to. It was literally 4 feet up the walls, dripping in the carpet, soaking her mattress and bedclothes. It took 5 scrubs and tub drains to get her clean and she has a rash literally halfway to her neck where it touched her bare skin where her t-shirt was pushed up. UGHHHHHHH!!!!!

Yeah, did I mention that I started the day already nauseous and shaky?

41weeks and 4 days
My midwife tells me to stay positive...but after 11 days, I really am losing my patience. Every day I say to myself, "Today is going to be the day," but by evening I am feeling so frustrated. Last night I went RUNNING to try to start labor, but nothing. The baby has to be here soon...right?

I promise the baby won't stay in there forever.

39 weeks today.

I feel the same as yesterday, just anxious to be done. I'm trying to be patient. I know she'll be here soon and then I'll have times where I'll long for free time, but not now! DH and I are planning something fun for this weekend as I'm hoping it's our last baby-free weekend.

buh-bye mucus plug

TMI warning:

After much walking, DTD again, tons of tightening in my belly and some squatting, I lost a very large goop of thick mucus this afternoon. They were right when they said it looks like a big handful of boogers...yuck! At least *something* is happening!

oh no katherine! that is awful! I hope its a one time thing and doesn't happen again today!!

twwly, sorry you had to drive all the way there for nothing, I know what you mean about the toddler though, it took effort to get DD dressed and packed today, most days lately we just lounge around! I'm glad I got the call before I left though, it takes me an hour to get to my MW apt and its about 100 degrees outside (and my car AC is a joke...). We ended up going out to lunch and to Target just to have something to do since we were all dressed and ready to go!

Now DD is napping and at 5 we'll head out to go see our Elmo show tonight. I'm excited about it A) because it gets me out of the house and B) because I think DD is REALLY going to like it and be excited!

We went to a pasta place for lunch and I got egplant parm not because I think it will start my labor, but I've actually never had it and it sounded REALLY good! It was, and now I am feeling a bit crampy...it would be my luck huh, to be in labor when we have elmo tickets and my MW is with another mom!

BirthFree: After a week and a half of acupuncture, chiro, swimming and other things (plus shelling out the $ for all of them), I can totally understand where you're coming from! I'm sending good baby-turning vibes today.

BlueMoonBean: Sorry about your dd3's tummy troubles. What a bad way to start the day (understatement!)

39w3d today. Worked a bit this morning and then went to my ds's preschool graduation ceremony. It was lovely. He and I spent the afternoon together, enjoying one on one time.

I've had lots of bhx today, which I don't usually get until a bit later in the day, and my lower back is killing me, so I'm about to hop in the bathtub. Today is the first evening I'm actually hoping I don't go into labor. DH and I have the opportunity to go to a fancy fundraising dinner tomorrow evening and my mom agreed to keep ds overnight. The thought of one last date night before baby comes is appealing to me.

I don't think I have posted in a while but here it goes....

11 days past due. I get crampy here and there but otherwise I feel great. It seems to depress people that I feel good right now too because I guess I am not suppose to. With my daughter I was almost 3 weeks over due and I tried everything to get her out. Walking until my feet swelled up, sex which was super uncomfy, eatting lots of spicy foods that gave me a tummy ache and don't even get me started on how miserable castor oil made me. Nothing worked. This time I have been trying the lay on the couch and wait method and so far no luck but it is much more tolerable, lol. I guess if you consider breastfeeding a toddler nipple stimulation, I do that but it doesn't ever get me anywhere. Next week my midwife wants to monitor me for a little bit and see what is going on. I really don't think I will go another week though. Infact I think tomorrow might be the day only because it is the ONLY day my husband has to be away for 8 hours and it will be very hard to contact him.

I went to LLL this morning to meet the local group and it was great. I'm having some back pain and I'm over the pregnancy induced nasal congestion.

Hubby and I went with some friends down to the river this afternoon and then the two of us went out to dinner. We are thinking it might be our last chance for a date night out in a while.

Labor vibes to those who want them and spinning vibes to Birthfree.

21. June here already and I'm 40 weeks today...

I was really counting on the full moon to do the trick, but that obviously hasn't worked. It all wouldn't matter if my mw didn't have to leave again on the 30th. So I really hope we will not have to go for UC! I mean we'd rather UC than go to the hospital for sure. But this being our first child and both of us never having attended a birth before, I'd much prefer to have a mw present...

Please send me some good vibes to get this started soon?

Yesterday went for a quick dip in the sea, learned the basic capoeira moves from my mw (like REALLY the basic ones, nothing fancy, wouldn't be able for it anymore) and then played some badminton with dp. Especially the badminton was good fun, though I kind of pulled a muscle in my right foot, but I think it got something going, bc I had some cramps last night, that felt a lot more like I would contractions expect to feel like. So I didn't get much sleep, but now they're pretty much gone again.

Maya - I feel EXACTLY the same way about perineal massage! We tried it a couple of times and to me it was just unpleasant and painful and like giving me an idea of what it will feel like to push the baby out. I decided not to have them anymore - end of story. I am not even convinced that they do so much good.

StacyL - hey, i've been meaning to ask: what happened to the birth stats and stories sticky? Are you still doing that? It would be really neat to get an overview again... I'm sure everybody would appreciate the effort.

Katherine - what a nightmare! I'm really sorry for you...

It's there at the top of the forum and updated for births daily.

Ooh... ahhh... I'm so stupid, sorry, StacyL!!!

I just assumed it wasn't updated, because it never came up in fat print on my screen anymore... Sorry and thanks !
