Moving up from Britax Marathon

Thread Starter
We are expecting a little one and we would like to put our older child in a seat that goes up to a higher weight limit. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! Also I tried to search for this but I could not get it to work,

britax regent - it is big but goes to 85 lbs and still a 5-point harness, great seat!

My car is too small for the Regent, so I bought the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 that is also 5-pt harness to 80lbs.

The Regent goes to 80 lbs, not 85.

We have the Regent (for my car) and LOVE it.

I just bought a Graco Nautilus last weekend as our spare seat (because he is about to outgrow the Marathon by height). He has LOTS of height growing room left in the Nautilus. It goes to 65lbs and then turns into a booster. We haven't used it yet, just played with it in the house, but so far I/we like it.

Quick note on this... unless you have a large child, the Radian 80 is usually not necessary. Most kids outgrow carseats by height before weight so the Radian 65 will work just as well for most kids (they'll outgrow the 65 and 80 around the same time, since the harness heights are close to, if not, the same).

I'm in the same boat, but just be careful, in case you're thinking of using your marathon w/ your new one bc your Marathon may be expiring soon.....I just found out that I can't use mine for my new little one bc it's too old So I'm buying 2 new carseats!!!

I'd recommend the Britax Regent or Frontier, or the Graco Nautilus, as these seats will last you the longest.

We just moved my 3.5 year old out of his Marathon and into a Radian 65 in anticipation of the new babe arriving in another month or so. We're putting 3 carseats in the back, so that's why we went with the Radian.

Another vote for the Regent. We moved DS up from the Marathon to the Regent about nine months ago and have been delighted with it.
