Hello. My 6.5 yr old son has had a loose front top tooth for a little while and the past two days it was hanging on by a thread. It finally came out during the night, and the new tooth is already pushing through. But now his gum is pretty swollen and he may have a slight fever. It is 75 degrees in our home and he says he wants the heat on and he has a slight headache, so it seems like an infection. I know that sometimes babies get slight fevers when they are teething, but I didn't know if this happens with older kids, and maybe the swollen gum is just because the tooth is coming through. He says it doesn't hurt very much when he touches the new tooth and gum, although this morning brushing wasn't feeling good (which is understandable). He's lost bottom teeth and this hasn't happened. I've given him echinacea and colloidal silver. I'd love to hear your suggestions or experiences with losing teeth.
Thanks!
