It's finally here for what it's worth the official start of summer! Today is the longest day of the year. What are you going to do?

Today we are going to try to build some hoop houses for the garden, wash some laundry and go to the transfer station. We are going to work on the yard and house getting ready for the Fourth of July.

Here's the link to the spring thread.

hi, just checking in, we just returned from 6 days on the Oregon coast....camping in a tent, we had fun but that was a lot of work! The weather was great for us, no rain the whole time , so now it's time to start Summer here in MV, the kids are out of school and it will be a whole new routine....we are going to try to get out as much as possible!

Yah Summer!

We went to the tractor parade and fireworks last night. Now I am doing laundry, going for groceries soon and taking a little siesta. I am also re-starting my knitting project later tonight as I already messed it up and have to start over! :

Tomorrow I am back to our building project to help the hubby and check on progress. We now have a flushing toilet! Oh the little things...

Anyone looking or know someone looking for a house? We still have ours listed and have it at a rock bottom price! Here is the blog we created for the sale with more info.

Cheryl, if I could find a way to sell my house I would buy yours in an instant! But, in this market my house will never sell so I have to stay put and make the best of it!
I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine. We will not be at playgroup today as both kids are sick and coughing coughing coughing!
Have Fun!

We will be coming to playgroup today but won't be able to make it until around 1pm. We woke up late today and well, it takes as long as it takes to get everyone out the door.

Since playgroup today my son has talked of NOTHING except the boy who took his pants off (!!) and wasn't wearing a diaper (!!) and had on BIG BOY PANTS!!!!

Tonight he took himself into the bathroom without prompting to go pee once and poo once.

Yaaay for nudists!

The first thing when we got home that Robin did was take all his clothes off and declare himself "nakedbutt!!" Funny thing, Dallas wanted to take his clothes off too. As soon as they were both stripped they were off and playing together.

It's really a common state around here

I'm fairly certain my very conservative religious neighbors think we're heathens. Heh heh!

new to skagit...

Hello,

My family is new to Mt. Vernon, and I'm looking for some like-minded mamas to connect with. I am a doula and I love to knit and sew. I have a 7(almost 8)yr. old son and a 5 yr. old daughter. Anyone want to get together?

Welcome Mountain Mamaa!

We're glad you found us in our little corner and hope you'll join in on some activities!

My name is Randi - I have no kids yet! My partner and I live in Burlington and hope to have kids soon!

One activity I have planned and is on-going is what I call "Drop In A Stitch" aka Knit and Chat it is Tuesdays from 5:30pm-7:00pm at this address:
Commonground Coffee House
351 Pease Rd
Burlington, WA 98233
(360) 757-1015

Anyone is welcome (kids too!) and we just sit, chat, knit and hang out!

Where did you move from?! Looking forward to getting to know you, and hope to see you next Tuesday!

Anyone?

After talking to a few people...I've began thinking that the more people I tell, the more people who talk to people, etc... the better chance I may have at doing IVF - hence my reason for stating this in hopes that maybe one of you can help.

I've recently become an egg donor and am wanting to give a couple the chance to have a child, who in turn, could possibly help me have a child (solely by sharing my 25+ eggs I make).

If you know anyone that wants a child, but needs fresh, young eggs - please have them contact me: qtrandi@verizon.net

Thank you for spreading the word.

Welcome MountainMamaa! I have an almost 4 year old and one due in August.

Good luck Randi! This waiting is so hard. If I hear of anyone I will surely pass along your name/number.

I would love to come to a knitting group! Thanks so much for the replies! It can be so hard to meet people when you are primarily at home...

Oh, and we moved here from Missoula, MT. And I'm new to this stuff, so I may mess up! Technology is so great, and yet I feel so intimidated:

Welcome MountainMamaa!

It looks like it will be hot tomorrow. Anyone want to meet at Maiben Park to play in the water for playgroup?
