Cheryl your pictures look amazing. You have a very beautiful family who photograph well too!

Does anyone want to meet for playgroup today and if so where? We could try to reconnect with the indoor spot at the senior center or try to get the kids to play under cover at Mabien park. Anyone have other ideas? Rain gear and just go for it?

Playgroup Today

Misty,
I'd love to get out and play today.
I tried giving you a call about playgroup today, but you # didn't work. Give me a ring.
Smiles, Britt

Cheryl those photos make my ovaries pinch HARD! What a beautiful family you have.

My FIL (ex-marine, republican, conservative, hard-headed, from that generation that thinks he needs a woman to wait on him hand and foot, etc. etc.) was here for a week. He's finally gone! *toss confetti* Man, that was a difficult visit. I nearly made it on the news, and not in a good way.

ANYWAY I've missed playdate completely (it was miss or bring FIL with me and I like you ladies too much to subject you to that horror). Instead I put up 10 quarts of organic tomatoes (Sunseed farms in Acme, local-ish organic tomatoes! $1 a pound for their seconds, perfect for canning!) 21 quarts spicy dill pickles, 5 pints & 2 quarts bread & butter pickles, and 18 pints spicy dill beans. WHEW!

Looking forward to next week's play date! Sev is missing his friends! Will we go to the water park again? It's looking fallish!

Your FIL and my MIL should get together. I am sure they would kill each other within a short amount of time because she believes she should be waited on hand and foot too. I wish I could send her away...but she only lives about 5 minutes from us.

On the other hand my mom is leaving today and I will be on my own. She was such a great help. It was amazing to have her here. My hubby is taking her to the airport in about an hour. I think Ian is going along to see the airplanes and for the ride and Owen and I are going to stay home.

I bought our "Owen" tree yesterday too. So this afternoon we are going to go plant it (with my placenta) somewhere near our Ian tree. We bought a tulip tree for him. :: We planted a pin oak for Ian. (this is it's fall colors.)

Cheryl,
We have always planned on planting a tree for our kids as well. But....both of my placentas are still in the freezer :
Somehow we have never gotten to it. Maybe sometime this fall we will see.
I think its a beautiful idea.

naking so excuse the typos...

no tree planting today. Our car broke down in Canada at the airport and Ian and Rob are stranded there. Rob's parents are on their way up to help/get them now. What a day...

Oh no! I hope they get home soon for you. Those photos were beautiful though! Is the photographer someone you know?

: I have my placenta in my freezer too....I used to have a few others for learning purposes, but thankfully I got rid of those ones....my dh was always complaining when he went to pull something out of the freezer and found those "placentas"!!! one of these days we will have a planting party!

: Two placentas in my freezer too. I can't decide where to put the trees and fear if I plant trees they won't make it. I don't have great luck with fruit trees. Maybe that has more to do with only buying trees at Costco, I don't know. I should probably at least move them to the deep freeze instead of the kitchen

They got home safe and sound, with he car! He had to get it towed to a shop but it wasn't anything too complicated, Robert actually figured it out when he was there and fixed it.

She is actually a fellow MDC momma whom I met here before Ian was born. She is in Bellingham.

Sounds like there are a lot of frozen placentas around here. We hope to plant our tree later today, if the rain stays away.

I was thinking of going to the Pacific Science center and to the Seattle Children's Museum on Friday. Anyone else want to go?
Misty,
I might be up for going tomorrow. It depends if Jesse is working or not. He has been working lots of extra hours and will have his 40 hrs by 2:30 today (his company hates to pay OT so they usually send him home at 40) but they might keep him all day and make him work tomorrow. So if he is working (I won't mind the OT pay!) I would love to go because then we will be talking a 52 hr work week and these kids are exhausting me, I will need to get out. But if he is not working we will be prepping the house for paint!
So that was long and rambling. I'll let you know more later tonight!

We planted Owen's tree! I posted it on my blog.

Ian was so cute. He had to supervise the digging and tell Rob when it was deep enough and then he wanted to shovel all the dirt back in around the tree when it was planted. He also was very proud of "his" tree and knew it was his as soon as we got out there. I am so glad we planted trees for them. And I am sure my dh is happy to not have the placenta in the freezer.

Your road trip sounds like fun Misty but I am staying close to home for a couple more weeks at least. I am sure Ian would LOVE to go. He wanted to go to the zoo today but I told him that maybe in a few weeks, on a nice day, we would go. So if anyone is up for a zoo trip on a nice day around the end of September...

I'm meeting a mom from Seattle at the Everett Children's Museum on Sept. 3 if anyone wants to meet up with us then. I love that place!

Misty, can you remind me when and where the LLL meetings are for this area? I have been associated with the Bellevue group and I love those ladies, but it's too far to drive all that way! I need to start going to local meetings. Do you also know the Bellingham info? I have a pregnant friend and would like to join her at a Bellingham meeting. If you don't have the info at hand no worries, I'll find it.

Hope you don't mind me jumping on here again.

Yes very scary indeed...and so so sad.

Ian starts preschool next week. We decided to put him in Anacortes Co-op preschool this year. For the next month it will be a lot of driving to get him there since we won't be moving until the end of the month...but after we move it will be awesome!

I will be back in the office October 7th. I am working Tuesdays and Thursdays now (well as of October 7th) so if anyone has need for a pregnancy/pediatric chiropractor... I am also thinking of putting on some classes/workshops once or twice a month. Any topics of interest?
So I wanted to just put this out there...I am looking for referrals....

Starting Oct. 7th I am looking for a part time employee. I need someone to work 9-5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with me to help with Owen and the office). It may turn into more of a full time position in the future depending on how busy my hubby gets on his days. (M, W and F)
