Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good 4th. We are exhausted from the crazy weekend, but we had a lot of fun. So does anyone know where playgroup is today?

Let's meet at Mabien park for the rest of the summer unless it looks like rain, then lets default back to the Senior Center in Mount Vernon. What do you think, keep it simple?

That sounds good to me. See you there!

Sorry I just didn't make it today. The kids and I were all seemed to have different goals. First breakfast because a painting and hair decorating adventure, then there was the fight over whether or not hair really has to be washed. Robin insists that he doesn't need clean hair, that dirty hair is better. Dallas is taking Robin's side in this matter. Then before we could make it to the car Robin was too hungry so we decided to have lunch here then join playgroup after lunch but Dallas fell asleep, one of those growing type naps that he can't be roused from easily so I let him sleep and now here it is 3:30 and I'm sure you have all gone home.

Maybe I can catch you later this week. If anyone wants to come over and play Robin really wants to have another party.

I didn't check in here, had a lot going on this morning. So we went to the Sr. Center and had a play date with some chronic inebriates tossing around a football and saying "fxxk" every other word. It was fabulous!

I can't find Mabien Park on a list of Mt. Vernon parks, is it out of town?

First off, upon searching I found I had misspelled the park name it is actually Maiben Park It's located in Burlington and it's a great park for warmer days and bigger kids because they have a really cool water feature with all kind of spraying fountains to play in, there are trees to hide in and a climbing structure with slides and swings, nice shady spots to sit...did I miss anything?

We don't have to meet there every week, I don't really care if anyone else wants to offer up any ideas. We could rotate like we did last year if anyone is wanting to try other parks.

Are play dates always on Monday? And what is the official time of them. I always seem to be having to leave just as everyone is getting there. Not that I make if very often anyway...August 1st is my last day of work for a couple of months so maybe I can get in one or two play dates before baby arrives. I may need help catching Ian though. I am only going to get slower over the next few weeks.

That park sounds great! I'm into meeting there while the weather cooperates for sure!

There's a new park going in on 18th between Division and Fir. It looks like it will have some really fun structures. I'll keep an eye out for when it opens.

I'd be open to play dates on other weekdays too, if anyone is interested!

Hello. I'm excited to make it to the playgroup next Monday and I would be happy to help chase after a little one! My kids love running after babies, too!!
Oh yeah, I need to know the time, too

My little one isn't so little ...he is almost 4! He is pretty fast so I can use all the help I can get these days.

I am hoping to make it next Monday. So far my schedule will allow it. :

Yay! It will be so nice to have everyone there next week. We really missed you Misty.....but I have had those days too! Cheryl-I will help you chase your not so little one! One thing I really enjoy about playgroup is the fact that we are all there watching the children and where one is there are usually more. It makes it easier to keep an eye on them I think. And Ava just loves running around with her friends!
I hope to see all of you mamas on Monday.
We are headed out for camping this evening, should be a fun weekend! I hope you all enjoy yours.

Thoughts on Knit & Chat

What if we postponed Knit and Chat until the winter months when we needed to be inside more??

Any other ideas on what we could do (after 5pm) that others may be interested in? (I'm willing to coordinate .... just need ideas!)

I'd love to meet some if not all of you!

It is difficult for me to go to Common Ground. DH has telecommuted there a couple of times and I have brought the kids down and I can't tell you what it is about that place but DS1 loves to run around screaming in there. I really can't inflict that on anyone intentionally.

The Children's Museum is open until 7pm everyday but Monday. That's all I have and don't know how helpful that is. I think you were looking for something a little more adult, but I can't get away without my kiddos anyhow so have no knowledge of such places.
