I'm pretty sure I have strep throat, can anyone help to avoid antibiotics?

I'm pretty certain I have strep throat. My 2 girlfriends came down w/ it last week the day after we spent all day together. So now my throat is on fire and its swollen. I have a slight fever 99.8. Is there anything I can do natural to avoid antibiotics? DD (nursling,13mth)) & I both got a HORRIBLE yeast infection when I had to take antibiotics 3 mths ago that I'm just now totally getting rid of for both of us. I've been taking Vit C, doing a salt water gargle and taking echinacea.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

gargle with grapefruit seed extract and take colloidal silver twice a day (one dropper of it each time)

That always works for me Just beware the grapefruit seed extract is BITTER.

Garlic and lots of it.I had some wierd throat thing that may have been strep a couple of months ago.I know if I had had time to go in I would have been given ABX.
I brewed some orange spice tea and added a clove of crushed garlic and drank that every evening and by the third day my symptoms were gone.I used the orange spice because it was spicy enough to hide any garlic flavor.I added honey to taste.

When my daughter had strep that was confirmed by a swab test, I used Grapefruit Seed Extract liquid to cure her.

whenever we have a sore throat my dad would put some cayanne (sp?) pepper in a little glass of water and would drink it like a shot. It burns the stuff off your throat. My great grandma sprayed it through a straw one time on my moms throat. She won't ever do it again though. But i think it got rid of it!

Yep, grapefruit seed extract and collodial silver. My oldest daughter is prone to strep, and I got tired of treating her with antibiotics. Every time she comes down with it, I give her 15 drops of gse 3 times a day (if you put the drops in grapefruit juice, you can't taste the bitterness at all), and 1 tsp of silverbiotics 3 times a day. The strep is usually gone w/in 24-48 hours.

Another vote for bee propolis! And also probiotics, even though you are not taking any antibiotics. My allergist suggested this and I now take probiotics daily and have yet to need an antibiotic for an infection even though I stopped my allergy shots!

At my house we find that using hydrogen peroxide in each ear helps with ANY upper respiratory inflammation or infection. Sounds nuts, but it works.

You lie down on one side, drop a few drops of plain old hydrogen peroxide in that ear (the stuff in the brown bottle that you can buy at any drug or grocery store.) Lay there with the H2O2 in that ear for 5 to 10 minutes, then roll over, draining the ear on a tissue, then treat the other ear in the same way. Sometimes it fizzes and bubbles. Don't let that worry you.

Dr. Mercola advocates using this. He is a natural type doctor that many people like, who has an enormously popular internet health site.

I'm glad to know this works - I recently came across a suggestion for this. Apparently a lot of viruses enter through the ear canal -- just another reason to keep your fingers out of your ears!

Along the lines of hydrogen peroxide, I've used it straight as a gargle and have combatted many sore throats this way. I'm not sure if the sore throats would have led to strep, but they've gone away with a few gargles doing this. If you try this, don't use a lot because it gets WAY foamy in your mouth -- lots of germs in there, ya know?
