You know... do what ya gotta do! I know I frequently place my DC and DH in a broom closet (that is if its too cold outside) while I knit.

acory23- hmmmm yes, silence is golden, duct tape is silver

where ever did you get that pattern for those adorable botties?
Jojo, I found the pattern on Ravelry.com. You should totally check it out if you havent already. Its like MySpace for knitters/crocheters. You can find zillions of awesome patterns and stuff. They have groups and you can show off your work. My username on Ravelry is 'lexknits'

Heres the pattern for the booties.

I must say, I can handle the "c" word and most other swears but the "T" word makes me cringe. I cant even say it. I dont know why. I dont find it offensive. I just dont like the way it sounds, I guess.

Its funny though, I usually pair curse words with baked goods too. Usually muffin or biscuit.

Grr!

Not about baby knitting, but you guys will understand.

DS really wanted me to make him some socks. I got one done in this pattern: http://www.rosemarywaits.com/2006/09...-toddler-socks and its adorable, but it doesn't fit his huge foot. :

Now I'm torn about whether I should make the second sock in the same size and give them away or frog it and start over.

How long did it take? Maybe you should make another in that size and save it for baby and make a different pair for DS.

I have decided I am not making socks or gloves for my DS or DD until they are fully grown. I will do mittens but not gloves. They both have big hands and feet and grow so fast that they would be the next size up by the time I am finished making them.

I need help. I am in desparate need for a pattern for a sleeper/romper/creeper/ whatever the hell you want to call it. Basically, baby footie pajamas. I cant find one that I dont hate. I need a basic, stockinette, button down the front sleeper pattern. It doesnt even have to have feet at this point. I can improvise if need be but I need a guideline.

Reason for being picky about the stitch and buttons and stuff... I am making a sock monkey sleeper. I basically want to make the baby jammies (with a hat) that looks like a sock monkey. (I plan to omit the tail though) I have the hat pattern, pretty easy. Its a basic beanie with ears. White on top with a red pom-pom and the bottom part is sock monkey gray with ears. Now I just need to body suit pattern.

Anyone have any ideas?

Acory, could you just find a top-down sweater pattern you like then just keep knitting when you get to the bottom, but switch to making longies from that point on? I don't know if that would work, just throwing out an idea. It sounds adorable, so I hope it works out!

I knit one bootie last night!..the smallest bootie Ive ever seen! Cant wait to use them!

Ravelry has lots of ideas....I did a search for baby romper.

Only problem...now I want to make one too!! The sock monkey suit is such a great idea--be sure to post a pic!

oh, I was originally thinking the snow suit (someone modified the EZ baby surprise jacket pattern) but it is in garter stitch. You might want to check that out, too.

I checked out ravelry (millions of times, with every search word I could think of...) and didnt really get anything that screamed out at me except something in a book that I cant find anywhere. I dont want to order it because I will probably only use that one pattern so I cant justify spending $30 on something I wont ever use.
