taxes owed and stimulus payment question

We owe taxes from 2007. I assumed that meant we weren't getting our stimulus check. We got a letter today from the IRS saying the amount we were getting and when it would be mailed. Then at the end there was a little thing saying that if you owe taxes you'll be notified seperately how much you'll get. Am I right that we won't get anything? Or do you still get some? Or how does that work? Anyone know? Thanks!

My dads owed taxes and he still received his stimulus check. SO maybe hope for the best but expect the worse just in case.

Well we owed taxes and got the letter saying we would get the stimulus check and a few days after the day we were supposed to get the check we got a letter saying it was being applied to our taxes. In my case I was happy to have the money applied to my taxes though for a moment I was thinking we might get the check.

Sis, who owed taxes, got the letter and got all excited. A week later, she got a check for 14 dollars. She was no longer excited.
