My dog was running up the mountain behind our house and came back limping last week. One of her front paws had the nail for the dew claw ripped off. The other paw (on which she was limping) had her most medial toe facing inward instead of pointing straight out. The vet didn't want to see her, but just said to keep her crated and only let her out on a leash for 6 weeks. She is now no longer limping at all, but the toe is still bent inward. Is there anything else I can do or will it really take 6 weeks of rest? Will the toe point straight again once the sprain is healed?
