Bottles/haberman/ need a slooow nipple to prevent gag

Im not sure where to post this.

My LO and I use donor milk. I supplement a great deal at the breast with a lact-aid and we also need to use bottles. She has a lot of trouble with gaging/choking. Our lactation consultant has her on a haberman. That is working pretty well and Id like to transition to a more traditional bottle.
We have tried - born free, avent, and playtex. Avent seems to be the better but she still is choking, sputtering, and gagging.

What is the slowest nipple out there that will go slooow and work well with breastfeeding.

Thanks mamma's!

Are you sure its the flow that's the problem? My ds couldnt handle any long nipples, they would make him gag horribly. We used the old Playtex Natural Action...they have very short nipples and I think the flow was nice and slow as well. Beyond that I'm not really sure...maybe a traditional nipple or one designed for preemies?

Btw, these are the ones I'm talking about http://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Natura.../dp/B000056W6M. Pretty much NO ONE seems to have them in slow flow online, BUT we do have them locally so I'd try and if you really wanted to try them and cant get ahold of some, I'd be happy to get some and mail them

Get the Playtex Ventair classic, the smaller ones, not the wide mouth ones. They are cut so baby doesn't get milk unless they suck on it. It's perfect for moms who need to use a bottle to supplement, it's what we used to help Ilana suck better.

Arnt those they same nipples as most basic baby bottles use? I'd get a glass bottle or BPA free bottle and use the nipples sans the ventaire bottles myself. I just dont like the idea of BPA leaching in my baby's bottles if I can avoid it (key word-IF; if you have no choice because baby is uber picky, then I can definately understand!). I think I have some hatred towards ventaire anyway though-my dd had HORRIBLE gas when using them and I hated cleaning them...she did better on the cheapie bottles, go fig.

Avent worked the best for us; DD started taking the bottle very early on w/ my expressed milk bc I knew i would be returning to work and didn't want her to go through "shock". The Avent nipple for newborns only has one hole, i think, and DD never had a problem w/ it. They are BPA free and worth the money, good quality and DD never had gas/colic issues due to air-intake.

erm...Avent isnt BPA free....http://www.consumer.philips.com/cons...R_GB_CONSUMER/. However, some of their other cups and I'm assuming their disposible liner bottles are ok (like playtex, since the milk is in a disposible liner which is BPA free, even though the bottle itself isnt.)

Avent nipples are super fast! Even my supplemented kids had problems w/ those. Yes, the normal vent-aire nipples will fit any normal bottle.

Interesting about the BPA in the Avent bottles, I could have sworn that I read in an article a while ago that they didn't have it. :
As for the flow rate, i guess my little Porker caught on quick to the flow of the newborn nipple!:

Yeah, I dont remember for life of me how fast avent nipples are, nor ventaire tbh. I just remembered the old ones I used being super slow-in fact, the hole was so small, a little peice of string got stuck in it one day and my ds couldnt get ANYTHNG out. I'd try those, the ventaire nipples, plain jane nipples....if I remember correctly, Dr. Browns nipples were pretty fast too.
