Update Thread 6/23 - Page 2

I made it to the movies - Yay! Now I'm home and trying to relax. The kids aren't making that easy. My 10 and 4 yr. old fight constantly - literally. From the time there eyes open until they seperate at bedtime.

I think I've done my job of pretending I'll be pregnant forever too well. Thinkign about birthing is making me anxious. Yesterday and today I just wanted to be by myself in the quiet totally left alone. I'm taking Motherwort - it helps calm me.

Hugs to everyone. We're in the home stretch. I think I'll do some knitting...

first, lots of hugs and love to all the mamas who need it! Glad to have this ddc to go to every day.

Still nada, have resorted to dtd(ya gotta understand, I have some serious sacral pain issues!!) and going to start epo tonight. figure it can't hurt, and am still holding the stance that the babe is still gonna come when the babe is gonna come! Ripening my cervix is just something to do!

MW called today and suggested I go get a nst just to be on the safe side, but that she always reccommends it at this point, and that she is not worried at all, and that it is merely a suggestion, and I don't have to do it. I dunno. Going to think about it tonight. Baby is moving around great and I really do not want to step foot in the hospital or deal with the back-up doc talking to me about an induction that I will refuse anyway. I am not even at 42 weeks yet, and as I have stated before, my ds was born past 42 weeks. I know the nst is no big deal, I just don't wanna do it: I had tons of them with ds b/c he had an arrythmia and it was just more nerve wracking than anything.

DS had been on a playdate all day and dp and I are freed up for a nice quiet dinner just the two of us Better get off the computer and start cooking!

Much love to all!

I just talked to my mw and I'm slightly anemic I haven't wanted any food lately, let alone meat, and I think I rely too much on meat for my iron. Sigh. I'm debating getting floradix or not... I hate to not get it and wish I had, esp since I'm going to be bleeding soon and could probably use the boost.

LianneM ~ I'd go ahead and get the Floradix. I started taking it a few weeks ago b/c I felt tired and I have a tendency to be slightly anemic here in the last stretch. It really helped me feel better. I'm not giving medical advice, of course, but my family and I, who are all a little prone to anemia, double dose when we take it for that first week. I've been slacking with it recently though - it gives me heartburn

Floradix is AWESOME. Really a terrific boost.

39+5 here.

MW did an exam today and I'm 2-3cm dilated, not that it means much, but at least we're heading in the right direction.

Bad news: she's unfortunately off call until Friday so if I give birth before then it'll be our secondary MW, which is fine, but this one attended DS' birth and we would like her there. Found out if we give birth on Thursday, neither our primary or secondary are on call and it'd be someone we've only met once, or perhaps never. Not cool with that, I think we'd probably wind up going unassisted and calling either our paramedic or retired MW friend at the last minute if we don't know who is on call....

Anyway. So that was a bit of a downer.

Good news was that she didn't hear the heartbeat irregularity that has been picked up.

My hip is TERRIBLE today. I can barely walk or move. I hope it doesn't act up during labour, I don't know how that'd work.

Well, still pregnant, not in any sort of active labor yet. I had spaced out contractions all day, continued to have blood tinged mucous. Saw MW today, she said it sounds promising, and is guessing at least within a few days. Just wanted to send updates!

And thanks to everyone who sent the ELVs! Who knows, I may still need them tonight!

good apt today
My BP was 140/82, but she said shes not really concerned anymore since its stayed the same for weeks, even if it is a little elevated. So, no transfer of care and she feels confident that I will have a lovely homebirth I am elated at that news to say the least!!
She did say that since my insurance still hasn't paid, and neither have we, that if shes at another birth there isn't a back up for me because she can't afford to pay another MW to come (understandable, shes doing us a favor by letting us wait for insurance to pay anyways, because if they don't it could be awhile before shes paid in full...). But I highly doubt thats going to happen, and if it does I already told my DH I am staying home anyways. I'm not going to go to the hospital just because shes at another birth, plus I'd wait until the last minute to see if she would make it and I certainly wouldn't want to deliver her in the car
But thats an unlikely situation, so I'm not worried about it, and now I'm just happily gestating, waiting for a baby!

Oh yeah, I'm also measuring 41 weeks now, and we're guessing Libby is going to weigh "9 and change", so a little bigger than DD1, we decided not to do a cervical check since we aren't feeling a rush with the BP stuff anymore, but her heatbeat was WAY low on my body so I'm guessing shes getting herself down there
