Disinfecting Poopy Toys

DD1 pooped in the bathtub and her bath toys were, um, dirtied.

What's the best natural method to clean them off? There is no visible residue, but I want to make sure they're safe to mouth again, you know?

I have tea tree oil. Could I just use my regular cleaning spray (vinegar, borax, Dr. Bronner's, water, tea tree oil)?

It's just poo
I would (and have) hose 'em off, scrub off any "residue" and dunk them in a dishpan of 50/50 water and white vinegar for a little while and let them air dry. I wash bath toys like this every month or so anyway.

I would just do your usual any maybe put them in the sun to dry. What do you do when she gets her hands in her dirty diaper (during a change)? I ask just to say, don't sweat it too much.

Just a wash with soap will be fine.
It's her poop, it came out of her body. It carries her own germs. There is nothing she could get from her poop, that she doesn't already have
(obviously assuming these things were rinsed immediately, not left out for the flies etc)

Can you run them through the dishwasher (if you have one)? All DS's bath toys are old kitchen things, anyway (measuring cups, plastic yogurt containers, etc.) so I just run them through once a week with my other dishes, otherwise they feel slimy to me.

Thanks for the responses!

I asked because DH was insisting on bleach. Honestly, I was inclined to rinse them and call them good.

Just remind him that you don't bleach her bottom, and that gets poop on it, too.

:

Soap and water should be just fine. You can even use hot water, if you want.
