Warning, way TMI

Ok, so I'm preparing for my first IVF. I started lupron last Monday and stopped bcp's on Wednesday. Tuesday & Wednesday of last week I had some brown spotting. Thursday & Friday I had some red spotting, but AF just would not come. On Sat, around 3:30am I started having what I thought were horrendous cramps. I was unable to even stay in bed due to the discomfort. The next few hours I spent on the toilet or pacing the hall with a hot pad pressed against my stomach. I then continued to clear my bowels and even started throwing up. I decided to get in the shower, hoping that hot water would bring some relief. Well, the pain was so bad that I couldn't stand once I was in there any ended up on hands and knees. Then all of a sudden I passed this clot of material. Once it was out, the pain ceased immediately and I felt just like normal. Sat was spotting to very light flow. Sunday AF came full force, but no pain.

Has anyone had an experience like that? I highly doubt it was a miscarriage since I was on bcp's, but the pain and experience was very similar to labor with my dd. Could it have just been a clot? Any ideas or thoughts would be welcome. The nurse at my doctor's office just blew it off as my period. :

How long were you on BCP? If it had only been a month and were not using any back up bc, then you are still at risk.
I would call the Dr, so they can check you and run some bw to know for sure.

I have had cycles where I pass extremely large clots, and the cramping is very very intense (much like the labor pains I had during my m/c last fall). I ended up having an SHG to check for fibroids, and they also tested a sample of the endometrium for precancerous growth. Everything turned up fine, with nothing to explain the large clots. I only pass large clots on the first day or 2 of my cycle, and not even every cycle. It would probably be wise to check with your dr and see what they say about it.
