snaps for pre-folded cloth diapers

When my daughter's first baby arrived she wanted to use cloth but the diaper pins bothered her. I think she was afraid of 'sticking' the baby. Our solution was to purchase pre-folded cloth diapers, (we found 'seconds' at a baby supply store) and I sewed snap tape on them. By the time the second baby arrived I had modified about 10 dozen diapers. The snaps were attached to the front center of the diaper and tabs of snaps were sewed on the back corners. They were adjustable and lasted very well. I would suggest this to anyone with concerns about pins. Adding the snap tape cost me about $.20 per diaper- it was well worth it.

That's so funny, I came here to ask if anyone has added snaps or velcro to prefolds. Glad to hear it works in reality, and not just in my head.

I have one of these, and was considering making something similar!

Although, to be honest, little cosmo won't be here for me to use it on for months yet, but it works just fine on DS's stuffed animals

so... does the snap tape stick out on the back corners? I'm guessing so.
We are having a suprise gender baby, so I'm just going to order some prefolds for the infant size.
Dh is not a big fan of pins, and amazon.com and the place I'm ordering the prefolds are out of snappis... this sounds like the PERFECT solution. Especially because i have about a YARD of snap tape sitting on my sewing shelf!
