Plarn?

Thread Starter
My best friend is crocheting a reusable veggie/produce bag out of plastic grocery bags she has cut into strips, which she calls plarn for plastic yarn. Has anyone else done this? I am interested in learning how, she lives about 2000 miles away from me so I need to find an online resource.

There's a pattern for those bags in the Funky Knits book.

I made a knit one using this pattern. Instructions for making the plarn are here. I've seen a few crochet patterns if you crochet instead. Just google "crochet plastic grocery bags" or similar.

It takes FOREVER to cut the bags into strips. Unless I was doing it wrong.

I stacked mine, maybe 5 or 6 bags at a time, and then folded and cut them. Didn't take too terribly long, IMO. Tying them all together took ages though!
